it took me a minute to like it
you never realize how many things have sugar in them until you need to watch sugar and carbs. ugh. when i saw this i was very happy even though i think it's a little pricey. at first i thought it was bitter and was going to add it to my "pile" of yet another disgusting food product out there. but i think because it wasn't cheap, i stuck it in the fridge and tried it with something different a few days later and LOVED IT! (i also kept thinking that if jung kook from bts loves ssamjang sauce so much, i should try a little harder lol). i think i didn't like it the first time because i was trying one of those "alternative" foods. when i tried it again, this time it was with parboiled rice. it's not bitter like i originally thought and it has a lot of flavor that is satisfying. for someone who cannot eat spicy stuff, they may find it a little spicy. personally i wish their was a more spicy version. and although the jar is kind of small, you don't need too much anyway so it should last for awhile. i did such a 180 on this that i now think i should stock up and buy more! so my tip is don't try it with food you've never eaten before for the first time. thank you for this sugar free version. as a diabetic, it's so tasty that you honestly won't miss the sugar!

Tasty ssamjang for pork belly
I recently tried the Thank-you Low Sugar Ssamjang, and the quality of the ingredients seems good. It has a really interesting and complex taste – it's definitely savory and has a noticeable spiciness, with that characteristic fermented soybean paste flavor coming through. I appreciate that it's sugar-free and gluten-free. It's very easy to use as a dipping sauce for vegetables or with Korean BBQ, as intended. For a specialty sauce like this, the value for money seems reasonable if you're looking for those authentic Korean flavors without the added sugar.

This is the real deal!
Finally found it! I loved this brand when I was in Korea and I’m glad I found it here in the States. Glad to finally get authentic Korea gochujang without having to travel for it. This is the real deal.

This sauce is like the more interesting brother of Gochujang
**Background:** I'm half Asian and I'm the primary cook and household and I do a lot of Korean cooking. I am very familiar with Gochujang but I have never used Ssamjang. I'm pretty sure I've had it and I've gone to Korean barbecue.** first impression:** so this is like a chunky version of Gochujang. It's got the same slightly gritty texture within the paste but then there's also little gritty pieces. It's got a wonderful slightly fermented smell.**Taste:** This is awesome. It's so much more complex than Gochujang. It's much more savory, much less sweetness. One of my family's favorite thing is LA Galbi and after we grill the meat, we wrap it in some lettuce and the sauce will be absolutely perfect.I also sometimes grill pork and I think this is a perfect marriage.I'm not sure I've tasted something quite like this. When you taste it straight up, it's a pretty interesting experience. You could heat on the front and the back end kinda like book ends. So when you first put it on the tip of your tongue, you get some heat I think you particularly notice it because it's not a lot of sweetness so immediately you taste the heat, but then a transition into that savory notes in a little bit of the ferment, but as that dissipates that he comes back and it's a broader across your mouth heat.I would put the heat level kind of at a medium and this is eating it straight up. I think if it was put on some lettuce with some flesh, I would then put it at the low end of medium kick. .**Conclusions:** So I live outside a large metropolitan area with a large Korean population. I have access to a lot of good quality in authentic Korean ingredients. So I was kind of skeptical getting something from Amazon. But this is 100% the real deal very authentic flavors. And the great part is they do it without sugar so if I'm doing keto or some other kind of low sugar diet I don’t have to stress. I also think this is a good value. I've got high-end sources before and easily pay this much or more for less amount. I also think this sauce is really convenient because it's stands on its own. It's already got the complexity. Where as Gochujang often needs to work with other things or other things mixed in.

Healthier, Flavorful Gojuchang
This came very well and thoughtfully packaged. It almost looked like a perfume/cologne bottle with the way they had packaged it so it wouldn't break along the way. It comes in a nice glass jar!I actually remember seeing this brand on Korean websites when I was looking for a healthier gojuchang and it had great reviews! This is a sugar-free (sweetened slightly with allulose) and significantly less sodium gojuchang compared to others you've seen and tried. It's still incredibly flavorful, spicy (potentially slightly less spicy than I'm used ot? Which I think is mostly a plus for others as I have a higher spice tolerance), and has a deep, rich flavor. The chilli paste still shines through and I love that they use domestically Korean products to make up the sauce. It's going to taste less sweet and salty of course, but you can adjust to your taste rather than be left with something you can't customize, especially if you have dietary or health restrictions. Another bonus I noticed for those looking to avoid alcohol, the ingredients don't include any sort of alcohol or wine spirits.I dipped a tiny teaspoon and tasted it on its own and it was great, I also made ramyun and added it and it was PERFECT and so so delicious. It added a kick without adding too much sweetness or more sodium to an already sodium-rich meal. I'm very pleased!

easy to eat with veggies and not too salty!
This was my first time having ssamjang sauce and I reallly liked it. I have seen it used in korean bbq settings and figured I'd try it just with some veggies as recommended. I used a small spoonful and dipped my cucumber slices in for each bite. I liked that it had a nice umami flavor and that it wasn't terriblly salty. I may try it with some noodles as well. I am keto, so it is helpful finding new flavors / sauces to keep me on track.
