You could cut it, but there is a minimum amount that is needed. The Critical Line (-C-L-) on Vacuum Breaker must typically be a minimum of 6" (152mm) above the fixture. Consult Local Codes for details.

Q: is this flushometer specifically designed for urinals?

It worked for our urinal. I don't know if it was "specifically designed" for urinals. Maybe you could ask the manufacturer.

Q: Any ideas as to why mine stopped working? Wasn't used much, about a year old.

Don't know, but mine stuck open (within 6 months) and had to be replaced as well. Sounds like a problem with the valves.

Q: Does this urinal drain from bottom or back?
