This was a quick and dirty solution to converting a camera tripod into a shooting rest tripod,, without a lot of hassle or expense..I wanted a shooting rest, and had an old camera tripod in the garage.. Bought this item and easily converted the tripod,,, and can convert it back if I want to use the tripod for filming.. Either way, it works,, Probably best for casual use,, which is all that I would be using it for.. but it did the trick...

feels solid. May be better options in terms of price. Consider shopping around. Overall works fine.

I needed something to help me steady my aim while target practicing. This works very well on my camera tripod and it cradles my rifle too. I think it's a better value than a bag rest.

Threaded for the standard tripod mount screw ( think its a 20 pitch) which is also used on many walking sticks, this relatively small item is a go-anywhere addition to the shooter's arsenal.It is well made and has a wide enough jaw gap to work with probably all stock forearms, from a .22 plinker to a full on heavy varmint or benchrest stock. It is also sturdy enough to spend a lifetime bouncing around in the area behind the seats of a pickup without anything more than cosmetic damage. The only problem there is finding it in the clutter.Well worth the money.p.s. For those who are more interested in shooting cameras that firearms: This yoke is good for most lenses and workable for nearly all of them. I have a 500mm that doesn't sit down IN the yoke, but the yoke's jaws are wide enough to provide adequate support and stability.
