USB 2.0 - please ignore several of the answers below because: 1) Those giving you a hard time of "clue is in the name" clearly haven't experienced being sold something that wasn't quite as advertised. 2) The "USB 3.0 is 10 times the speed of the USB 2.0" answer is (in practical terms) WRONG - yes, it's true in theory, but you'll only find it on impossibly expensive quad-channel flash drives connected to a very fast PC. In the REAL WORLD the speed difference is more like 4 times. Still usefully faster for large game or video files, but unimportant for school or work files etc. Also note some cheaper usb3 flash drives are only very slightly faster than usb2 for sizeable files due to how quickly their cheapo internals actually work.

I'm not familiar with technical terms. How do I know if I need USB 2 or 3?

You can use USB2 and USB3 connectors in both USB2 and USB3 ports. The USB2 port is slower and so will only work at a slower rate even if it has a USB3 inserted. Similarly if a USB3 port has a USB2 connector inserted it too will work at the slower rate. Google: "USB2 or USB3?" for less complex explanations than I can give. Apparently USB3 port with USB3 connector work at 10 times the rate.

Will I be able to use it for my Nintendo Wii U?
