Using this badge for halloween. It's a nice badge, heavy metal, looks great. It has magnetic back so it does not make any holes in your clothes. As metal it is a bit heavy so might be a problem for very thin fabrics, drooping or whatever. Magnets are strong and will hold through regular material like a shirt or Tshirt. Did not try anything thicker like a winter jacket. Reasonable price for the quality.

Exactly as pictured. Very good quality, has some good weight to it. When you open it up, there are four strong magnets on the inside that will help the badge stay snug over the shirt. I tried running around and jumping up and down and it won't budge from wherever you place it.

This was a great accessory for a dress costume.

I bought two of these badges, this one and the medical badge. I love them. They were the perfect finishing touch to my Star Trek costumes. They look really nice, and the magnets are very strong. I wore it all day on a thick double knit fabric and it never moved or fell off. It would not stay connected when I tried to overlap the top magnet with the thick interfaced ribbing of the collar, however. I think I will buy the whole set and frame them for my office. They are that pretty.

Product appears accurate to the TV show. The finish is beautiful and looks expensive. Has fairly strong magnets to hold it in place with no fear of falling off. I wouldn't use it on a jacket because the further the magnets are from each other, the weaker the magnetic force to hold it in place, but I wouldn't be surprised it stayed in place anyway.As far as Star Trek badges concerned, this one is of high quality. Don't be fooled by the silly-looking impenetrable plastic blister pack it comes in.

Good size, weight, and magnetic. The magnets could be set a bit better since it does wiggle a little. Finish looks great. Worth the price.

I made my own TOS Lieutenant Scott costume a couple Halloweens ago. I know this is from the Discovery series, but in spirit is the same design as the cheap looking patches used on the Original Series uniforms! I think it still fits in well and adds a little bit of class to the OG costume. It's extremely well-made and the magnets are strong.
