What size for a 9yr old?

It depends on the size of the 9 year old! I checked the size chart and ordered based on the measurements there and the measurements of my grandson. It fit him perfectly!!

Is the head hole stretchy? I have a kid that is very particular about hoodies not being tight when putting on.

No not very stretchy.but not super tight either.
