That's how its supposed to be. Each slider is able to rotate freely to help reduce wear and damage in a slide. This way during a crash and you catch ledge or anything on the slider the slider will rotate rather than catching and snapping the bolt off.

Stuff is constantly being marketed "universal" everywhere. If I wanted universal I wouldn't bother specifying the exact year, make and model. It's a drag. Search facility in Amazon for motorcycle accessories is heavy tainted with sponsored items and those labeled "universal fit". It's a drag. Fix it.
