Grief sometimes brings us the greatest of treasures....💗
While never truly feeling like she fit in amongst her peers....always the sturdy tomboy no matter what she did. Fran felt that much more the outsider while deeply grieving the loss of her grandmother. Some of her dearest memories held within her heart were spending time with both she and her grandfather on the farm. Going through family treasures and memories, the very last thing she expected was for her world to completely turn on a dime. This book was such a treat! A unique take on time travel itself as there are no gadgets or standing stones....in actuality its a surprise time slip that lands our main character where she does. Find out exactly when and where she lands and just how on earth she acclimated. It might not be what she expected, but it seems to me it's exactly what Fran needed to become the fullest version of herself. I can't wait to see what's next in this heartwarming series.

I was quickly and hopelessly lost in this fascinating book!
I love this book so much that I ordered books 2,3,5 and 7 already. I’m looking for books 4 and 6. Jane O’Brien had become quickly my favorite author. The characters in this book were brought to life by her masterful and vivid writing. I find myself wondering what Fran and Luke are doing. Haha! This is a very easy read. While it is extremely heartwarming, it also provides excitement making it very difficult to put down. Just a lovely, lovely story. Book two, Yesterday’s Hope, arrives tomorrow! It’sa good thing, because I just read the last page of book 1 tonight. Thank you Ms O’Brien for sharing your talent with us. I am thoroughly enjoying your work. ♥️

Refreshing love story about how it used to be
I've been stuck on post-apocalyptic dystopian novels lately, and I needed a break. I love time-travel stories, and I thought I would give this one a try. I'm glad I did. The only reason I'm not reading the next one is that I want to thank the author for writing them. This story is a little convenient, as Fran just happens to be dressed in period clothing, and the catalyst is virtually impossible to achieve. But we're talking about time-travel. THAT'S the unbelievable part? Ha. Anyway, I got so drawn in that I willingly sacrificed 2 hours of much-needed sleep just to finish it. The romance blossoms slowly, and I found myself hoping she couldn't return to her own time. I enjoyed reading about how she was forced to rely on the townspeople to get the basic necessities, because that sort of thing is unheard of today. I barely know the names of neighbors I've lived next door to for 3 years because everyone is so disconnected. In the past, people relied on each other for survival and everyone helped when someone was in need. It made me aware of how alone we really are now, and Francine understandably got used to the social connection, and it would have been hard to give up. Thankfully, she is spared the decision. I won't ruin the ending, but I'm eager to see what happens next. Read this book!

Well researched time and fleshed out characters
I'm always looking for a new author to fallbin love with. One with writing that speaks to me. I was a late reader and only read for pleasure after graduating college. I started with Jude Devereux's, A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR. With that my love of well researched time travel novels was born.Jane O'Brian"s Time Slip series fits that bill perfectly. They are well researched and told with a real eye for detail. The stories stand well without relying on SEX to sell. Things are left to the imagination. No "heaving boosems and throbbing manhoods just to sell copies.I've always considered true intimacy not to be a spectator sport. You will fall in love with these people whom you will feel sure must have existed. Starting my next one tonight.

When will it end?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so much so that I purchased book 2 out of 6 followed by book 3 out of 6. In fact I went through all 6 books only to find out that the author had added a seventh. I purchased book 7 assuming there would finally be an ending to this continuous story because it was labeled as book 7 out of 7. I was wrong again. There is a book 8 coming out later. How much time & money will it take to get to the end of this story line?

Well-researched time travel
This is a lovely and interesting time travel story, the first book in a series.Francine Clark is sorting through the belongings of her much-loved, recently deceased grandmother. She opens a trunk to find several quilts that were made by generations of Clark women. When a certain thing happens, she is transported back to 1875.The story alternates between 2019 when her family are trying to find out what happened to her and 1875 where Franny is trying to adapt and adjust to living in 1875.15

Interesting Time Travel Story
This time-slip story takes Fran Clark back to her grandparent’s farm, the place Fran cherished all her life. Everything is familiar to her because she loved the farm and learned how to perform the main things. She could milk the cow, feed the animals, gather the eggs, get water from the pump, and ride a horse. She also could skin and prepare a rabbit - yuck!Fran is mistaken for the new schoolteacher, which she also did in her present life. There’s a love affair that develops nicely with a luscious HEA.It is my first time hearing Belinda Lams and her Audible narration was good.
