The tip is clear plastic with black plastic clip for your pocket, but the very end is metal inside plastic.

Does this have a fat grip? I don't want a fat grip.

I guess it depends on your definition of "fat". It is certainly a substantial pen with a nice padded grip. I have been buying these for years. Great fat pen!

Are there refills available for this pen?

One might get a box if they had refills because they had 12 people they wanted to give one to? I'm just sayin'

How long do they last?

I jot down notes constantly all day and I find one pen lasts me anywhere from 2-3 months.
