Works well for stroke patient
My husband suffers from the rigid fist and arm post-stroke, and this splint was recommended to wear at night. It's a bit difficult to get on as he suffers from post-stroke pain syndrome, but once it's on, he's comfortable in it. Gives the palm a break from the fingers pressing into it. I really like that you can adjust the position of all of the straps, and they were thoughtful in design by having separate straps to go over the knuckles and the mid-fingers both, as for him both of those areas need stabilization. The two smaller straps for the thumb are thoughtful too, and you can bend the shape of the brace so it fits the individual's needs. Recommend it, but do check with your doctor and/or Physical/Occupational Therapist first to make sure it's ok for your situation.

A very good brace for after stroke
I’m a 30 year stroke survivor who has tried many hand braces. My hand has a lot of spasticity and stays fisted whenever it’s not in a brace. My thumb is the most difficult part of my hand to deal with. It is extremely spastic and wants to sit curled up in my palm all day. A brace will Not change spastisty. But, it keeps my hand flexible so that it can be stretched, washed, and maintains the opportunity for recovery. Without my brace on 6-10 hrs a day my hand would slowly become a permanent, painful fist. So, I have to wear my brace, or I’ll be sorry! This brace has an aluminum core that allows someone to bend the fingers and thumb to a curvature that’s comfortable. Many braces only can be flexed when heated. This brace also has a thumb support that works for me. I’d say it’s good for a very spastic thumb, which most braces are not! The brace is soft and has strong Velcro. A very good brace.

A great tool but make sure to work the arm
This brace works but it only works if there is constant use with hand, fist and arm, the person has to train to relearn to use hand fingers and arm. When the hand forms a fist the fist will swell and the hand will hurt worse then anything imaginable. This will help keep the hand open. Does not help open the hand but helps keep the hand open, will help keep the hand and arm and fingers straight. All this means nothing if the person is not working on using the hand again. Must rotate and move the brace so the support straps do not dig into the hand and arm causing swelling. This does help but as I learned it’s only a tool and a good tool but like any other tool you must work the problem

Very effective in minimizing my carpal tunnel numbness and tingling
Nothing is ever easy … I had hip surgery and needed to use a cane for so long that I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in the opposite wrist! The first night I used this product, my hand felt SO much better in the morning! I have a brace that was given to me by my hand specialist. The usual standard issue. It’s fine for day use. But this one is much more softly padded and very comfortable, I had no problem at all sleeping with it. I wasn’t prepared for how useless my hand was, once I had it on, but when you’re in bed that doesn’t matter! Highly recommended. Worth every penny.
