Sculpting in Wire (Basics of Sculpture)

Very informative book and beautiful images. Most inspiring for the novice and the professional sculptor. I don't sculpt in wire but I just love this book as once you see what can be achieved it gives you the drive to try something new. The works are contemporary and charming. Highly recommend this lovely book.

I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. There are not a lot of books on this specific subject; I'm glad this one is as good as it is.

I was expecting something with some simple projects perhaps moving toward complexity but this was some rather unimpressive pictures that were not very pleasant to look at. I will sell very soon. Definitely not worth the 20 plus that I paid for it.

I loved the book when I first opened it! There are 5 tutorials, step by step, how to create wire art figures. The actual wire sculptures are nothing special, but they are a good begining for someone like me, that touches a wire for the first time and bend it! There are very creative sculpures of the author that are s.th. I like to achive in the future :) I was hoping for more information about how to coat the figures with paper or fabric, but there isn't any. In 5 words: it's a good book.

This book shows the possiblities when making things with wire. Starting from the simple it goes through to more complex projects. Photos are great.

I was so disappointed that the projects shown in the gallery weren't addressed with at least hints as to how they were accomplished, which includes the sheep on the cover. Instead a very different simplified and in my opinion, homely, sheep project was shown. The gallery was inspiring, these projects were not. I knew from other reviews this was a beginners book and many people were not happy about the projects chosen, and I agree. Not only were the projects not appealing, but they were very limited as to how to work with the wire. I think it would have been nice to start out with a basic design like the bird and then show us slightly more difficult techniques that would increase our ability to translate wire into 3-D projects. I didn't feel I got that from this book. A section on basic techniques for working with the wire to show us how some of the gallery art was accomplished would have been much appreciated.

For 24 bucks, it was a waste. Nothing inside this book were special. Simple, dull weird photos. If I knew that would be book that bad, I would never ever spend on it. Very very disappointed. It went straight on the shelf. Now I need to think how to resell this book.

gutes buch mit vielen verschiedenen techniken die zum ausprobieren und experimentieren verleiten. Das Buch hat gute Photos und gibt gute Tipps.
