Hunter 253400 PGP Seal Replacement Kit

It wasn't clear to me initially that I could stop the leakage in my Hunter sprinkler heads, but I noticed in the instructions that they mention a seal replacement should help. I found this right part number on Amazon and ordered several for heads that were leaking out near the top. It wasn't easy to take the top of the sprinkler head off to get to the seal, but with enough brute force we could pull the top off as per the instructions included with the seal replacement kit. Replacing the seals was then easy and not to hard to push the cap of the head back on. When placed back in the sprinkler holder in the ground, we found the leaks were stopped. We were very pleased that we didn't have to buy new sprinkler heads to get everything back in good working order.

This works as advertised and is dead easy to install. . My local guy sold me 2 whole new heads when I showed him my leaky ones. (thanks pal) Instead of telling me about the seal kit. The next year I had 2 more leakers and I decided to look it up online and found these seals instead. Luckily I kept my leakers and repaired them so now I have good 2 spares ready to go. Yes, you can probably find them cheaper but for $5.50 at my door in 2 days you still can't go wrong.

Worked as expected. My hunter rotor kept leaking but once I swapped out this seal replacement, it worked great. Saved some money since didn't have to replace a whole router.

Seal has very visible knock out pin marks from the molding process. . .not sure how this will seal at this point. Did not come in original OEM packaging, either, so I'm not convinced it's actually Hunter product.

I bought this item for a Hunter PGP Sprinkler. From the online picture, it appeared that it would fit the large PGP, since there are different sized PGPs and the online description only stated that it was for PGPs, no model, etc. However, it did not fit my large PGP. The item was delivered in a size 'B' envelope. Shipping cost approx. $1. However, the return was channeled through UPS with a cost of over $5, about the cost of the item. Bad experience.

The rotor was leaking (flooding) so I thought I'd try to change out the seals ($2-$3) rather than buying a new rotor ($11). Instructions for changing the seals was accurate and the rotor no longer leaks.
