Works well.
I have used my Berkley BT-50375 to cut about 300 rods so far, all 3/8, threaded, 360 brass. For a man with reasonable arm strength this machine cuts easily, much faster than sawing and with better results. Maybe half the time a nut will slip easily onto the fresh-cut rod, but plan on doing a little touch-up. Surprisingly it does not flatten the threads where they press the anvil. This item should be paired with some tool that bevels the cut end for easy nut-starting.Caveat: I have used it only on 360 brass, which is probably the easiest-machining metal on the planet.

First 10 cuts was good and that you have to fight every time
First 10 cuts was good and after that 10 cuts you have to fight every time , very disappointed with the rod cutter, don't recommend to anyone

Still Requires Some Thread Chasing
I purchased the BT-50375 because I was tired of having to clear threads after cutting threaded rod. This tool makes cutting the rod a breeze, but most of the time I still had some difficulty screwing a nut on after the cut.Still, it's much better than cutting them with a saw, and the thread clean-up is greatly reduced.
