Tasty and crunchy
The taste and crunch is excellent. A very tasty and satisfying snack.

Changed for the worst
Update January 2020Oh no. This snack now boasts a ‘new, improved flavour’ and it is horrible, much sweeter than it was before and it is horrible. The snack itself has also changed in consistency and moved from light and crispy to a much denser product. I could live with the new density (which also reduces the number of pieces in the bag, although not the overall weight), but the new flavour is just ghastly. Avoid my mistake of bulk buying a favourite and check you like the changes beforehand. I have three boxes to get shot of and will not be buying this again. My original review remains below.******************************** original review below **************************************I just love the heat you get from this snack and, although the pack size feels small, the taste is satisfying (more so than the cheese version). These have become a regular purchase for us.

Bean Me Up, Spicy
Bepps Snacks claim a series of things that set the alarm bells a-ringing within my noggin; Vegan Friendly - Gluten Free - Good Source of Protein and Fibre - Healthy Snack. All these things are what I usually look to avoid. I like my snacks smothered in fat and salt - perfect to go with beer and a film. To make matters worse they are made from black eyed peas and they are delicious. At only 90 calories a packet you get a nice little pile of tasty sweet chilli treats to pour into a small bowl. I found the amount you get perfect and they go down very well with a cold beer. The snacks are chunky balls and have a great crack to them as you eat. The flavour is not too spicy, but a lovely sweet chilli mix.You get a box of 24 bags in a pack and they come in about £1 a pack. This is expensive compared to most multipacks you may buy but is in keeping with a packet you may buy individually in the shop. For your money you may not get a load in a packet, but they are a genuine surprise and delicious at that.

They were better when Fergie was still in the band.
When this arrived I expected that I'd be faced with a much bigger box than it actually was. As you can see from the photographs (the electric toaster is for scale) it's quite compact, and the bags have been arranged neatly rather than just dumped in. That's plus-point number one.Plus-point number two is that unless you're allergic to fresh air there's really nothing in these to do you any harm. Vegan friendly, gluten free, no MSG, and only 92 calories a bag, they are made from black-eyed pea flour and are a reasonable source of protein and fibre. They're a bit like "Hippeas", a sort of health-conscious alternative to crisps. And lastly, they're not bad to eat. They taste nice - they've had a thumbs up in our house anyway - and one bag is just enough to keep hunger at bay 'til dinnertime.BUT, and it's a big but...the price! If you were buying one bag while you were rushing to get to work or if you stopped off at a motorway service station, and it cost 75p, you might just about be able to put your hand in your pocket and hand it over. But if you were thinking about getting a box of these, and then you realised that for the same price you could get over a hundred bags of named-brand crisps from your local supermarket, surely something would stop you? Common sense maybe?I couldn't even justify paying £18 for these "as a treat". Chocolate is a treat. Theses are chilli flavoured pea puffs. I'd rather buy 144 bags of Frazzles instead. Sorry!

Quick Reviews!
There's nothing quite like wrapping your mouth around a couple of Bepps. Say that in my accent and you'll get thrown out of Church, but it's true in both cases. These corn type snacks are Gluten free, Vegan friendly, and a decent enough size to stave off hunger pangs until the next meal drops from the sky. I wasn't too sure about these on my first bite - the chili flavour didn't come through and I was worried it was going to be further proof of the 'low fat low taste argument'. The peppercorn came through, quite potently it must be said, moments later and while this was a surprise I still wasn't too sure if I enjoyed them or not. After another couple of mouthfuls, the Sweetness erupted and when merged with the smoky Black Pepper, conspired to make a not unpleasing tingle. Halfway through the bag I was sold. My wife didn't venture past their first bite, even though I assured her they 'got better'. If you don't enjoy your first sample, try to at least finish the bag and see if you feel differently. They are fairly spicy for a basic snack, and much tastier than many other similar healthy alternatives.

Lovely!
Yum!Small bites of pea based crisp puffs!Very nice sweet chilli taste.A little crunchy for a puff crisp but breaks down nice and quickly, I like this. They're very tasty for gluten free! They are also vegan friendly. You would not think they're pea based at all!Very nice fresh tasting. Date states next August, so plenty of time to consume. The company donates thousands of packs of these every year to charity. This is fantastic.I would definitely recommend these. They're a good source of protein too! 24 packs for a reasonable price. Absolutely lovely sweet chilli taste.

Delicious
So very very tasty especially for vegan alternatives.Reasonably low calories for a crisp style snackOnly downside is the price. £22.50 is a lot for a pack of 24.
