My intention with this was to use it in my living room lamp to provide color and dimming atmosphere for, say, movie watching. But it doesn't have enough brightness for normal use. Not nearly as bright as my 60w equivalent CREE. And it has no downward light either. Plus I couldn't come close to matching the CREE's color temperature. So I ended up sticking it in my desk lamp in my office, where I've set up some "scenes" that give me ample light when needed for paperwork and accent lighting for night browsing.Setup is easy enough. The bulb is compatible with Apple HomeKit so you need no additional app or software. The colors in my opinion aren't as expansive as the marketing would lead you to believe. Greens are particularly hard to nail down. And the thing is HEAVY. If you put it in an adjustable lamp wtih an average base, you're pretty limited to how much you can adjust it without it always falling over.It is a decent bulb you can do some fun things with. Just don't expect perfection at this price.

This smart LED light bulb meets all my expectations. I wanted to have a night light in my living room that can dim down at night time, brighten up in the morning when I wake up, turn off when I leave and turn back up just before I get home in the late afternoon AND repeats. I have setup the schedule in the app with different preset scnens and made this work beautifully without any issue. In fact, I have managed to setup weekend schedule as well. The LED bulb itself works without any additional hardware or hub. I even srtup the Alexa yo work with this bulb all within the app which you need to install to get this to work. The brightness is just right for my application but if you need something brighter like for reading purposes or light up the entire room, you may need a stronger LED or multiple of these. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase.

This light bulb works great with the HomeKit app and Koogeek’s own app. The only downside is how big the bulb actually is - it’s a good bit larger than a regular light bulb so it doesn’t fit in certain fixtures (it’s a standard socket, but it’s a long bulb). See included pic for size comparison.I have it in my desk lamp and it works fine there but I need a bigger lamp shade so it doesn’t stick out.The colours are true and it’s pretty responsive. It’s a good hubless option if you don’t want to go in with a whole house option and just want to do a bulb here or there, because even though it is big it’s smaller than a bulb plus smart socket so it may be a little more flexible in that case.

Update: After having this product for 6 months I'm not as enthused as I once was. It never really gave a warm hue to the light which was disappointing. The orange colors always seem to have an almost green hint to them which is kind of an ugly mix. I recently got some LifX bulbs and theres such beautiful warm hues and they add so much better atmosphere to my rooms. I love all my koogeek products but I really hope they enhance the warm spectrum on these bulbs.********************6 years ago I tried to buy the first ever smart bulb and returned it upon learning it needed a hub. This thing finally gives all the functionality ya could want without the need of any hub. You can use it from your phone, watch, iPad, Mac and it integrates great with home kit and Siri. I only have good things to say about it aside from it falling off the network once or twice a week but I blame that more on my crappy Comcast setup

I am having issues with the Bulb dropping off the network. It runs off the 2.4gHZ network. When it is connected, it works fine. Siri cooperates with it fine. I just can't figure out why it drops off the network. I have reset the socket back to factory settings so many times I believe I can do it in my sleep. I have multiple other devices on the 2.4gHZ network that never drop off. I have been communicating with Koogeek just recently and they have not been able to resolve the issue yet. I have the same problem with the Smart Socket WiFi enabled adapter. I bought them at the same time.

I’ve purchased 10 of these for my home so far. Mainly because of their HomeKit support and no requirement for a separate hub. They work great and generally I have no issues. Unfortunately one of them malfunctioned recently. It just stopped coming on one day and would only blink sporadically. Resetting it didn’t help. So I contacted customer service and explained what was happening. They advised me to purchase a replacement and refunded me the cost. A really great product with great customer service. Highly recommended!

With an incredible easy installation and support, the Koogeek LED smart bulb is a reliable and perfect addition to your SmartHome ecosystem. The fact of having Apple/Homekit gets you an even easier and intuitive installation procedure.Adjusting color can be done either through the Koogeeek app and/or Homekit.I have installed already three different devices and running smoothly, to say the least. It has been already 5 months.Highly recommendable.

For the first month, everything was great, light connected etc. I got a notification to update the light and it wouldn’t do it, and the light then completely stopped working. Total rip off

Premièrement, ils disent que c'est un lot de 2 ampoules, mais en fait il n'y en a qu'une.J'en ai acheté 2, et elles deviennent fréquemment (environ 1 fois par semaine) inaccessibles par HomeKit. Je dois à chaque fois les dévisser et les revisser pour qu'elles redeviennent accessibles.Avec la dernière version de HomeKit, il est possible de régler automatiquement la lumière émise en fonction de l'heure dans la journée, mais ces ampoules ne sont pour l'instant pas compatibles avec cette fonction. Ce devrait pouvoir se faire avec une mise à jour du constructeur.Pour l'instant, je ne recommande pas ce produit.

It does everything a homekit enabled bulb is expected to do, and does it well. The only problem I had was the brightness. Not a lot honestly. Especially if you want warm light.
