Not a bad boot. However, the product description is entirely WRONG.I puchased the RB8695 model from an outdoors store years ago and love them.I needed a new pair and the store no longer exists.Needless to say, I purchased them from Amazon only to receive the RB8694 model with a RB8695 tag stitched into it.This is the EXACT SAME BOOT, WITH THE EXACT SAME SPECS as the RB8694RB8695 - Ventilation is supposed to be stitched differently than the RB8694 modelRB8695 - Color scheme should be (sand/tan) not (yellow/tan) like the RB8694 modelRB8695 - Should have a soft toe! not a hard toe like the RB8694 modelThe 3 differences between the two models... Now there is not difference. Same boot. RIP RB8695... smh.

I needed a new pair of boots, and wanted some with a zipper. I chose this particular pair of boots because I thought they might provide the same level of comfort and support as my Oakley boots that I had. It wasn't even close! I do t know how much effort was put into making them fit and support the foot itself, but if the results are any indication, it was very little. With no effective support, your feet are sure to tire quickly and the lack of ergonomic design left spacing that will certainly create sores in a short period of time.

I didn't really need the side-zipper feature, but, I took a chance on the boots anyway. After wearing these one afternoon on a short hike, I envision that these will be my main hiking boots for my trips to the Canyon Country of southern Utah this season and beyond. The "wide" version fits my feet perfectly with heavier cushiony wool socks and still gives my feet room without ever feeling tight. I'm accustomed to carrying a fairly heavy pack and assorted camera equipment and think that these boots will perform admirably.

It's a good looking boot, however; there is a strange elevated Redbox emblem in the heel of the inner sole that causes discomfort. It has also taken a long time to break in. The tongue is oversized and doesn't allow your pants leg to fall into place when going from a sitting position to a standing position. If you are a on duty person who is conscious of how you look, this boot may not be for you.

I have had several pairs of this boot for a number of years. I do a lot of walking with my dog and I do it mostly in these shoes. They are comfortable and easy to get into with the zipper on the side. I wear out the heels before anything else goes wrong. I do wish that the tongue of the shoe wasn't so long. It holds up my pants sleeve and I have to pull them free of the tongue. Other than that, these shoes are long lasting and remain comfortable.

First off, I like the boot. Comfortable right out of the box. They could use a bit less fill in the tongue, however. That being said, if you order this boot, make sure when they arrive that they are, indeed, SAFETY BOOTS with a composite toe. I ordered the composite toe safety boots, I was billed for a composite toe safety boots, the receipt and the box show composite toe safety boots - BUT the boot does NOT have the composite toe. This is the first time I have been disappointed with a purchase from Amazon.

Second pair... LOVE these! More of a Converse fan, but I have to say these have held up EXCEEDINGLY well. Maybe made to gov't spec? They are fantastic. VERY comfortable and I have a wide foot...10.5 wide. They fit great. Tempted to buy an extra couple pairs to keep on the shelf for when they decide to drop them or change them to something I won't like. BUY THEM.

I purposely ordered 10.5 when I would normally order a 9.5 or 10. Lately, boots I have ordered have been made smaller than their stated size. I believe if I had ordered a 9.5 (my normal size) it would have fit perfectly. Before, I had always ordered the Converse equivalent of these boots and they were probably the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. So far, I think these will match the Converse. These are great work boots for the conditions I work in overseas.
