Good, Budget-Friendly Lens!
I recently picked up this lens for my Canon T6, and so far, I’ve been pretty impressed with it for the price. If you’re on a budget but want a solid 85mm prime, this lens does the job well. That said, there are a few things worth mentioning.Build Quality: For the price, the build is actually pretty good. The lens feels solid and has a nice metal mount. It’s a little on the heavier side, but not too bulky. It has a nice clean design that looks more expensive than it actually is.Autofocus: The autofocus is a bit louder compared to my Canon lenses. It’s not super loud, but you can definitely hear it whirring, especially if you’re recording video or in a quiet space. The good news is it doesn’t affect the performance. It locks onto subjects fairly quickly and doesn’t miss too much. In super low light, it can struggle a bit, which is pretty common for lenses in this price range.Image Quality: This lens really shines in terms of sharpness and the overall look. The f1.8 aperture is awesome for portraits—it creates beautiful background blur and helps isolate your subject. I did notice some chromatic aberration (color fringing), but it’s nothing major as it’s easy to fix in Photoshop or any editing software.Bokeh and Aperture: One of my favorite things about this lens is the f1.8 aperture. It gives you that nice shallow depth of field that’s perfect for portraits. The bokeh is smooth and dreamy, making your subject really pop against a soft, blurred background.Overall, the Meike 85mm f1.8 is a great lens, especially considering the price. The autofocus is a little louder than what you’d get from Canon’s OEM lenses, and there’s some chromatic aberration to deal with, but nothing too bad. The image quality is sharp, the bokeh is gorgeous, and the lens is perfect for portraits. If you’re looking for a solid 85mm lens that won’t break the bank, this one is definitely worth checking out.

This is an amazing all around lens!!
The media could not be loaded. My wife has a Canon 7D mk2 and loves it. She has a nice Canon 50.m f/1.8 and was wanting a nice prime lens that is a little longer and that doesnt cost a small fortune. We looked at the Canon 85mm f/1.8 lenses and the build quality was sub par especially for the price. While looking on Amazon I ran across this Meike lens. From the specs it looked good and the price was excellent. I was a little leery at first because most often budget lenses end up being fairly soft and have horrible chromatic aberration. The lens arrived about two days after ordering, which was nice. When the lens arrived and I took it out of the box I noticed it was heavier than I expected. It weighs in at 14oz. This lens has large great looking optics in ur and the best part is it has a solid metal mount, something the 50mm Canon does not have. I like that you can select between auti ficus and manual focus with the switch in the side. I decided to test out the lens and see if it is really as good as the reviews say. On most fast lenses when you shoot wide open they tend to be soft and have more CA than when stopped down. Because of this I decided to shoot all my test shots wide open and see what the images look like after some pixel peeping. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this lens gives excellent sharp images in low light and in brighter high contrast areas the CA is almost non existent. I would almost say this budget lens is almost as good as my Zeiss lenses. I said almost, it is hard to beat a Zeiss or Sigma art lens. The manual focus rotation on this lens is 90 degrees from near to infinity so it really helps you get your shot quickly although the auto focus on it is very fast as well. Everytime I tried to focus on something it would automatically hit the spot even with the lens wide open and that is hard for some lenses to do. I did not try this lens out with any videos because I prefer manual focus lenses with at least 200 degrees of focus rotation or more. I'm not saying you cant use it for videos but itlf you do you might want to set a higher F stop for deeper focus or switch the lens over for auto focus so you dont miss your mark. All in all I am very happy with this lens and I can see using it for a long time!

Fantastic Lens! BEAUTIFUL Bokeh!!!
The media could not be loaded. I am in love with this lens!! I can NOT get over the creamy bokeh effect! Its taken my pictures to the next level and it was so worth the investment! My only notes are the noise level, which doesn't bug me too, too much. Its not terrible- just noticeable. I also wish it had some image stabilization- no image stabilization makes any videos I take insanely shakey and basically unwatchable. Photos however, are unaffected so, yay! I have also noticed a little bit of chromatic aberration BUT after I've edited the photos like I would for any other photos, I dont notice any of the chromatic aberration! So, editing fixes that it seems!I love love LOOOVE this lens! Super budget friendly and TOTALLY WORTH IT! It's been fantastic so far!

Worth it!!!!
For the price, this should be a gazillion stars. Got this for my canon RP using the EF converter ring.Images are amazing. The af is slow and doesn’t always catch. It’s also LOUD!But who cares. For under $200 getting an AF 1.8 85mm is amazing!
