ACDelco 213-363 GM Original Equipment Engine Camshaft Position Sensor

We had a Cam Sensor code, "P0343 Sensor circuit high input", on a 2000 Chevy Suburban 1500 5.3L engine. We had to remove the intake manifold, which is not easy, due to all the wires, vacuum hoses, fuel lines and other parts that have to be disconnected and moved around.Even though the old Cam Sensor tested the same with a volt meter, we replaced it with this new sensor and cleared the codes and after many miles of driving the P0343 code has not returned. Very happy with this product.Symptoms of bad sensor was hard to start and getting harder and harder to start as time went by. Generally ran pretty good once started, but occasionally would start bucking and not run good enough to drive.As a side line to the Cam Sensor, but a note that might help others on their intake manifold, read on.Our biggest problem with the intake manifold was Amazon, Autozone, and Oreillies all said we needed the one piece new gasket which I ordered theFel-Pro MS98016T Intake Manifold Gasket. Our intake manifold had 8 separate rubber like gaskets instead of one. So we used Permatex and the old gaskets and it did work out fine. Thanks Amazon for taking the new one piece back with a full refund.I later found a Dorman intake manifold on line that also has the 8 separate gaskets instead of the MS98016T one piece gasket for 5.3 L engines.If you do this job and find you also have 8 separate gaskets instead of just a one piece, google the Dorman intake manifold and gaskets. They do sell the 8 separate gaskets.Our motor was picked up at a junk yard about 4 years ago when the vehicle had over 200,000 miles on it. We replaced the old moter with the used junk yard model. It is a 5.3L but apparently someone put the Dorman intake manifold on it instead of an OEM intake manifold.The Suburban now has 286,000 miles and this new cam sensor.Hope this stuff hleps someone someday!

Nothing like original parts, returned the Doorman crap to Autozone. Save yourself some headaches, don’t get fooled like me. There is a definite advantage in OEM Sensors!

OMG, when these go bad, they are a PITA to replace (at least on my car).I have a 2002 Chevy Camaro SS, and in order to replace this one sensor, you have to pull the intake manifold. It's not hard, but it is time consuming and you have to disconnect a lot of stuff.Once I was back there, the sensor pops right in.BE VERY CAREFUL OF THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR!!! If you are not (or yours has been in there for some time), you might want to order yourself one of these ((just in case)). Make sure you also have a oi pressure sensor deep socket on hand as well. THEY BREAK VERY EASY when removing and installing the intake manifold on LS1 V8s !!

This camshaft position sensor was for my 2003 Suburban & I’m going to give you a MASSIVE tip that some don’t know about and it’s crucial. I first got a “Standard” brand sensor at an auto parts store, swapped it out and the new part of course was bad. I should have just ordered the Delco to begin with and it’s only $8 more. The installation of the Delco was actually much more smooth for lack of a better term and it just went right into place with ease while the Standard did not and so far so good. I “think” this sensor is the culprit for an issue nobody has been able to figure out for a few years with random rough idle, stalking and hard starts after driving or running for a bit and warmer outside temp seems to increase this. Once it stalls after sitting for a little bit it starts right uo and is fine again. If you have similar issues you may want to research this sensor. THIS is the important part: the “correct” way they tell you to change out this sensor is WAY more complicated and much more time consuming than it has to be. My second install took 5 mins from start to finish. The “right way” has you removed your fuel lines, injectors, intake and lots of the top end to access (see) this sensor. All you need is a 10mm shallow socket, about 8in extension and ratchet. There are a couple decent videos on YouTube and I am going to put out a better one on how to do this. The only trick is locating the sensor (feeling around for it). You can’t see it but you will feel it and once you find it you’re done in 5 mins instead of 5 hours. It is just about in the center behind the block. The wire clip is easily removed with one hand, loosen the 10mm bolt and then it easily comes out by hand so no risk of dropping it back there. The old sensor pulls straight up. You may have to use some tension as there’s an o-ring so it doesn’t just slide up but still easy. The install is just the reverse. Remember that I said the first non Delco sensor I put in was bad. You have no way of knowing it’s bad until you’ve finished the job and start the truck so I feel so bad for anyone that does this job the lengthy way only to have to do it again!😳. Oh how I would have thrown some wrenches! Sounds too easy to be true? I was also skeptical until I did it myself. Given the amount of work required to do it the king way I thought it was worth a try and I’m so glad I did. I hope this helps someone not throw wrenches.🤣

This was the Third sensor for my 2005 Avalanche 5.3 I should have know better than to buy sensors from AUTOZONE AND THEIR NOT THE ONLY BRICK AND MORTAR STORE THAT HAS A PROBLEM WITH AFTERMARKET ELECTRICAL PARTS THIS time I went searching for OEM PARTS this part worked perfectly the first time no problems whatsoever the other 2 got one to start vehicle and failed and the other one when warm won’t start the vehicle so as hard as this sensor is to replace just buy oem parts save you time and money not to mention driving you crazy because there supposed to be new parts that you can’t get money back for you can only swap for another one that won’t work so I’m giving this sensor A+A+A+A+A+

Had to replace this sensor to get my engine running properly again. Good price, good quality part! I chose the difficulty process to replace the sensor, but a good light and a mirror helped out.

Looking for OEM replacement and that's what I got.
