Maybe there are more than one version of this sponge because what I received does not live up to the hype of all the 4 and 5 star reviews. They work but not nearly as well as the name brand and not even as well as my store brand that I usually buy. They come apart fairly easily, don't wear nearly as well but they are well priced and the extra thickness lets you get a better grip. I think mine came apart so easily because I could get a good grip on it and then had to put so much force to get any cleaning power at all. For the price I had to try them but sometimes you get only what you pay for. Update 06/12/2017 The product might be two stars in my opinion but the vendor is a solid 5 star. The contacted me via Amazon, wanted to send me another batch for free as maybe I did receive a bad set. I declined only because I don't want a small business wasting any time or money on me for such a mundane product - the vast majority of people are happy with the product so I'm obviously an outlier here. Again, top of the line company so know that you can order with confidence that if it doesn't work to your satisfaction, they will make it right. Update 06/30/2017: Merchant was persistent in sending me another batch of these at no charge and I'm glad they did. The second batch works much better than the first, on a par with the store branded products (which, frankly, work almost as well as the name brand). The merchant seems to think the first batch may have had a manufacturing flaw (not enough of whatever the cleaning agent in these things is - melamine? ). These people are real serious about making customers happy and that says a lot to me.

These melamine foam “magic erasers” work great for cleaning things. Why pay so much for the name brand, when you can have the same thing for literally a fraction of the price. They work the best with copious amounts of water and can take most any kind of dirt/debris off your surfaces. All those burnt, stubborn, sticky spills, and stains can be easily removed off bathroom fixtures, cabinets, and even walls using these sponges with just water. I had to learn to go softly on the walls because although I took off the dirt, I took the sheen off as well. Be careful though, like real sandpaper, you can take off too much. They end up eventually dissolving. Hope this helps you make your decision.

These disintegrate immediately. They are extremely poor quality, do not buy. They might be cheap but by the time you clean the area you want, half the hag is gone and it didn’t do nearly such a good job as other brands and you end up being out more money. They’re are many off brands that work wonderful! This is not one of them!

I've ordered these twice now. I was using the generic ones from the dollar store. (and paying. 50 cents a piece). These last WAY longer than those and cost less! Even though the name brand magic erasers hold up better. They cost 3 times as much and definitely don't last 3 times longer! I clean houses for a living and wouldn't be able to do as good a job without these.

Absolutely love these. We use them in bathroom and kitchen, we bleach them once a week and they are still in great condition. Might be more expensive than normal sponges, but they have lasted longer than others and are environmentally friendly.

These magic erasers are melamine sponges, and work the same as any other magic eraser. If you have used them before you will know not to try and wring them out as they will tear. This shouldn't be a direct criticism of this particular set of sponges as it will be the same with other melamine sponges, its just how it is. When wet just squeeze the sponge, don't twist them. Melamine sponges are slightly abrasive, so don't use them on non-stick surfaces, stainless steel and some other surfaces as they will leave marks. Search online if you are unsure and test out on a small area you can't see. I used these to clean some stubborn stains from a tiled/painted splashback and they worked well for that purpose. As there are 10 sponges in total they are good value overall.
