how many cups can it brew? thanks

It lets me brew most of my 1 litre pourover kettle, so it is close to a litre. I would say 800 millilitres. That would be about 27 ounces. Does that help? I get about 3 mugs out of it. Officially in coffee world "cups" I think that it is 5 or so.

Is the opening big enough to fit your hand in for cleaning?

If a person rinses out after each use then there should not be a need for cleaning or scrubbing out.
