Hidden gem!
I cannot believe I got such a flavorful matcha at such a price point. The color, texture, and flavors completely outperform most of the (much) more expensive matchas I’ve purchased for lattes. Quality stuff here! A decently sized tin at such a price in 2025 is hard to come by. I’ve only tried this matcha as a latte—not usucha or koicha, but some people may enjoy it that way, I don’t know. The texture of the matcha is very fine, no grittiness at all. It blended up like a dream with my chasen. I enjoyed it unsweetened with soy milk, iced, and really love it. Good umami, low astringency (but enough the be tasted through the milk—just how I like it,) no fishy or seaweed quality at all. It’s a very earthy/grassy matcha but that’s what I was looking for, anyhow. Ratio of 5g to 9oz soy milk. Cannot recommend this product enough!

The best affordable matcha
I’m so shocked that I got a good quality matcha for this price! The color was surprisingly just as green as my other ceremonial matcha. I like to use this matcha for my every day drink and I add my earl grey syrup to this and you can still taste the umami flavor. If you drink matcha a lot and you don’t want to break the bank I really recommend this one!

Delicious matcha
This matcha is delicious. I love the taste and it is great quality. I would say definitely sift it with a strainer before preparing your matcha drink. I accidentally skipped that step this morning and I got chunks.

11/10 would recommend!!
I’ve tried culinary and universal Maeda-en matcha for my lattes and when comparing the two there is a difference in color and taste. Universal has a brighter color and tastes less bitter compared to culinary. This also foamed nicely with my bamboo whisk and it blended well without any chalkiness when drinking. It was really good and looking forward to trying the ceremonial Maeda-en. This is also an affordable option compared to other brands.

Phenomenal Matcha
Absolutely incredible. I bought this to test out just to see how it compared to some of the pricey Matcha powders I use. Will be keeping this in my rotation as an everyday matcha. It's a great beginner matcha as well as a pro matcha drinker too. It's good as just a tea and as a latte.. This matcha powder can go head to head with some of the more expensive brands and beat them out of the water without even trying. This is such a great matcha.

Great matcha for great price
I’ve only recently started making matcha at home and this matcha powder is better than the expensive one I bought last month. There’s a good amount that comes in the packet, there’s a nice balance of sweet and umami flavors, doesn’t lose flavor when mixed into a latte, and was very easy to whisk. Beautiful color as well

Delicious Matcha!
Delicious! i've only tried one other matcha brand before this, so I'm not an expert by any means, but this matcha was way better. It got nice and foamy, without hard-to-break-up clumps. The size seemed really small for the price to me, but a little goes a lot further than you think it will, so that's fine by me. I made an iced matcha latte with lavender cold foam and it was amazing!!

decent matcha
Not the worst matcha, nor the best. It's pretty decent in a latte, I preferred to use this one for my greek yogurt bowls, instead of in a latte. It's good, a little bitter tho compared to my other ones. But it's a good size for the price. It also had a good aroma.

Bought it as it was recommended by a Japanese acquaintance. It’s packaged in a sealed bag and then placed inside a sealed tin to ensure that it is fresh. I have used this to make matcha smoothies and it’s got that lovely, yummy matcha flavour that I was after. I will be using this to make some matcha baked goods as well.

Excellent!! I was recommended this by a friend who lives in Japan when I asked for authentic matcha after trying so many. It’s the deep mossy green colour it should be with a slight bitterness to the taste. Used it for lots of my baking and ice cream and one can lasted quite a while

Much smaller than I expected but it’s fine cause you only need a little bit each time

Probably a mix of leaves rather than pure Tencha. I just wanted something cheap to get over my matcha latte cravings but this is not it. Tastes like the quality you would get at a sushi chain-restaurant, so yes it has that umami seaweed flavour and a bright lime colour, but it does not taste like pure matcha (100% ground tencha). It lacks depth.
