Yes, the Steam Deck with the protective case can be put into the Valve carrying case. Note: The front shell can't be put into the carrying case.

The kickstand is on the right side and you can pull it off if you don’t want to use is and yes you can cover the face along with the thumb grips on the steam deck I use thumb grips as well and it’s no problem for me at all
