It's been 4 years since I used it. The surface is still fine but cracks are beginning to occur. Is it a characteristic of wood?

Really sturdy and hasn't warped yet. A bit heavy so drying can get a bit cumbersome in our drying rack. The indentation helps a lot with capturing liquids from food. Haven't done any heavy chopping yet on it, ie breaking down a chicken with a cleaver but so far everything else done to it hasn't damaged or ruined it.

Excellent cutting board! I've been using this for several months and it still has lots of life left in it. No cracking or warping like the cheaper quality boards.
