Excellent smartwatch from Samsung :-)
WATCH FEATURESI read a number of reviews where people had a lot of problems with compatibility issues, even between this watch and Samsung's own phones. It was frustrating to read all of that, especially when people decided to return their Samsung watches.Yes, it is NOT a 'UK version' as some gave it a 1-star review, but ... despite that, I liked it immediately, and me being ME, I had to find a solution for the above issues.(So, keep reading, as this might save you a time and nerves, looking for solving these issues, especially if you like this watch like I do.)It took me a few hours to work around some incompatibilities between Samsung Galaxy watch and my CAT S41 mobile phone. On my Samsung Galaxy watch, my messages and SMSs from my phone CAT S41 didn't work, so my work-around that obstacle was installing 'Handcent Next SMS' app for SMSs, Microsoft Outlook for emails, where I have my all 3 email accounts (GMX, Outlook & Gmail) and 'Notifications Wear for Gear' app for messages from Viber, WhatsApp and others, which you can use FREE for 100 notifications, and after that (if you want to keep on using it) you have to pay £2.39, which is what I did, because app is doing great job.BATTERY1st day - arrived charged at 72%. Went thru initial setting, pairing with my CAT S41 mobile phone, downloaded a few faces and apps, tried them (saved some, deleted some) ... and battery went down to roughly 30%. Put watch to charge overnight.2nd day - took off charging at 08:00 at 100%. Setting were ALL ON, so ALL notifications were on (emails, SMSs, Viber, WhatsApp). Downloaded, tested and deleted a number of watch faces and apps during the day.Charge at 20:00 was 60%, so I assume with above setting, watch battery would last possibly half of a next day with a night going low in consumption.3rd day - took off charging at 08:00 at 100%. Setting were again ALL ON, so ALL notifications were on (emails, SMSs, Viber, WhatsApp), but this time I haven't downloaded willingly any app. One app has been updated by itself on watch itself.Charge at 20:00 was 75%, so I assume that with ALL ON, but without downloading apps, this phone can easily last 2 days, maybe more. With ALL notifications OFF, this phone can last days on just watch, but ... that's not the point :-) ... If I have smart watch, I want to use all its features.CONCLUSIONI am very happy with my purchase, and with a little work-arounds some glitches/incompatibilites, I should be happily using Samsung Galaxy watch for sometime.=====TIP: NOTIFICATIONS PROBLEMSTEP 1: UNCHECK "show only while wearing watch" on mobile phone. STEP 2: Ensure that 'REMOTE CONNECTION' in the Galaxy Wearable app under Account and Backup > Remote Connections, is switched on.=====UPDATE 19 Nov 2019Love this watch ... it lasts 2 and half to 3 days, with display ON all the time, with all notifications (WhatsApp, emails, SMSs, etc). I read a few reviews that it is a Portugese watch. Personally, I am NOT bothered, as I don't want to use Samsung Pay :-)=====UPDATE 23 Feb 2020Still VERY happy with this watch. Battery lasts good 3 days. I would suggest to change original hand strap, if you have sensitive skin like myself. I've developed red rush, my skin was pealing off, ... so I've purchased pack of 3 different hand straps with HOLES in them, which let my skin exposed to air. No more skin problems 🙂👍

More magical than the Wizard of Oz
Aside from the fact that this was a pre-ordered purchase, my watch and charger were delivered around 5 weeks after the release date after many, many chats and calls to Amazon CS (I'll give be them their dues and say it was more than likely out of their control).I'll start with the watch which I'll be honest in saying looked slightly 'tacky' with the rubber strap (this was immediately changed to a tan leather one which was ordered long before the watch arrived). I booted it up to be immediately presented with a beautiful clear screen and directions on how to successfully pair the device. I had watched a fair few YouTube videos and was pretty clued up at this point.Moving on to the features, the call and text features get regular use as does the sleep tracker but I'm still a little disappointed by the lack of 3rd party android apps. The watch faces are highly customisable and I pretty much choose a different configuration every day. There are literally 1000's of one's to download which I have downloaded a few but tend to stick to the Samsung one's. I've also since purchased a few more straps which add yet more combinations to the overall look. All in all I'm sure there's something for everyone. The companion app also works great, giving you the ability to tailor your apps as well as downloading new faces and apps which are sent directly to your watch.Downsides, aside from the lack of apps, I've found that I rarely get more than 3 days use. Granted I have the screen brightness set around 7 and the ood set to off, I expected more given it was Samsungs key selling point. I'm sure if you already have an S3 I would probably wait until the next gen but given I've always used standard G-Shocks in the past, I'm over the moon. The fact that I did eventually receive the watch with the wireless dual charger, the only criticism I have is that it makes a rather annoying hum when charging. In summary, this is a great piece of tech and although it could still do with a few more apps and a longer battery, it's certainly a step in the right direction for wearable tech.

Better than expected
I've been thinking about getting a Galaxy smartwatch for a while, first the Gear S3 Frontier and now this and since it came up as a great price I pulled the trigger! (It didn't help with my wife buying the Rose Gold Galaxy Watch 42mm a few weeks beforehand either)The Galaxy watch 46mm has done all I expected it to do and more, text messaging, voice calling, voice activation (Bixby) and alot more. There is a vast amount of options for notifications etc but most people don't take the extra bit of time to go through these to set up their watch correctly instead of slating it on reviews. The watch gets to know your habits just like your smartphone does and after initial setting up and going through its battery learning/conditioning it works flawlessly. My usage consists mainly of full weekends and weekdays (after 4pm) and at the end of the week I still have around 45-50% battery left, this is great! My bank doesnt support Samsung Pay which doesnt really matter as I use Google pay on my phone so that's a none issue for me.I found that fitting a tempered screen protector actually looked great also, I fitted it after about a week and it really does fit nicely and looks as good if not better than the original screen as well as protecting it, obviously this is a must if you are into outdoor activities or working in harsh environments! After the Gear Fit 2 (which i class more as a fitness tracker and now gets used for work) this is my first 'real' smartwatch and it ticks all the boxes for me, it isn't perfect, but then again is anything!? it pairs up with my Galaxy Note 9 nicely which isn't perfect either but isn't far from it ^^ ;)
