BulkVegan Protein Powder, Vanilla, 1 kg, Packaging May Vary

Love this product. Doesn't aggregate my stomach like whey powders.

As a regular customer for whey protein and Bulk products I was excited to try this non dairy protein powder but it is in my opinion tastes horrible and even our gym cafe who make lots of smoothies and health shakes for customer would not take it off me for free ... it is inedible and unwanted.BULK refuse to refund or accept any criticism of their products … their customer care stops at offering discount for future purchases. They anlmost suggested it was my own mistake for not ordering a sample size before committing to full size products - but they don't highlight this fact anywhere on their literature or promote their sample range .. big mistake.This was an expensive mistake for me and one that will be going in the bin with a definite feeling of grievance.

So I've bought pea protein in the past (from Bulk) and holy hell did it taste bad. I was a little worried that this would be the same, thankfully though the difference is galaxy's apart (I still shudder thinking of the taste of pure pea protein.) It's a little too sweet for my taste, even after adding cocoa powder, but it's very drinkable and I'd recommend it for sure.If, like me, you've just watched Game Changers and are looking to try out the lifestyle, then this is worth a try for your protein shakes.Edit: Forgot to mention that I bought the vanilla flavour. I also use a blender (get yourself a Breville Blender, they're cheap and do the job nicely), so I had no issues with mixing.

I have found that the prices for Bulk's protein powders can vary wildly based on flavour alone; one that is about £12/kg can suddenly become £20/kg when it's time to reorder. As such, I look around and buy whichever is cheapest at the time. This time it was the vegan powder, vanilla flavour. It was the first time I'd tried a shake based on pea protein. The reviews were mixed, with some saying it tastes horrible and is grainy. I don't care - it serves a purpose and enjoyment isn't top of the list. As it happens, I love it. The taste is biscuity; think plain digestive or perhaps custard cream. The powder seems to disperse and create a 'suspension in solution' rather than dissolve. This does indeed make for a thicker-than-water drink with a powdery feel. This I enjoy too. It's not much different from being creamy and I do look forward to drinking it. I would like to buy this one again when it runs out but I see that the price has already jumped from £11.96 to £21.92. Hopefully it will come down again.

I'm a bit mystified by some of the negative reviews here. I just purchased the vanilla flavoured version and used it in my morning smoothie for the first time. I mixed it with spinach and frozen fruit. It blended really well and tastes very nice. I had no unpleasant after-taste. On top of this, it has a really good calories/protein ratio (assuming this is correct, given the company's history) and it's comparatively cheap. I will be using this from now on. My only negative is that I found it almost impossible to re-seal the package but I'll be transferring the powder to a plastic container anyway.

It’s a good product. The taste is not bad, just I wouldn’t tell if I didn’t know it is vanilla. Actually is not even sweet. I bought it mostly because I wanted a protein not sweetened with sucralose, but i think there is so little stevia on it that i even considering eating it as a savory protein with meals. It probably tastes like that because of the pea.I am frustrated because I did my oat meal this morning and had to add syrup because it didnt taste sweet at all.I am wondering now what is the taste of the plain protein with no added flavour.

This item was damaged and a considerable amount of the powder leaked into the box covering my other items. Can it at least be replaced?

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this powder. I don't understand the complaint about bad taste, grainy texture and polluted particles?I have used sunwarrior for over a year and I prefer the flavour of this Vanilla Bulk Powder by far! It's blends just fine in my nutribullet and I scoop 2 big scoops in....I can't compare to non vegan powders but the point is that for someone who is either intolerant to the majority of non vegan powders OR who is choosing powders out of morality, this is pretty damn good!I can't complain about anything.
