Small, Sleek and Speedy! (SER8)
* the reviews below are from many Beelink machines. My review is for the SER8. This is why some say the performance is bottom tier/won't play games and I say the performance is staggering and it definitely will play AAA games. Played HD2 earlier at over 60fps! OK, this is my first mini PC, but not my first PC, that was a 386SX 16Mhz from Packard Bell when I was in my teens. Since then I have built and upgraded several, but with traditional desktops getting more and more power hungry, and laptops having more drawbacks these days, I took the plunge on this Ryzen 8745HS Beelink Ser8 with 32GB Ram. Already owning a Ryzen 5 5600x system, owning a mini pc with a CPU stronger than my desktop on paper but with an iGPU instead of a dedicated GPU was rather intriguing for me in terms of how it would perform. All I can say is that AMD really have surpassed Intel in the budget and power efficiency stakes and this little beast of a PC is just a fine example of what's good enough for most these days. I had been eyeing up several AMD based mini PCs for months, but the SER8 was always the one I came back to as being in budget and seemingly capable of doing all I'd need it to do. The claims of great cooling backed up by numerous reviews was what set it apart from many similarly spec'd systems. It arrived a day early today and after a very pleasant unboxing experience as this PC looks and feels like a quality product from the first time you see it. The smooth metal exterior is just a joy to behold and a very short setup, it was time to fire it up for the first time. The setup was a little odd, setting up a local account before adding my MS Account later, but within minutes I was sat with a bloat free Windows 11 Pro installation. The PC is quick, it seems to handle gaming OK too, Helldivers 2 with balanced up scaling ran well on medium settings. I didn't game much, but it was remarkably quiet throughout. WiFi isn't meant to be a strong point of the Beelink but on my WiFi 5 connection it got a good 780Mb/s connection, not blazingly fast, but given my older router it's not too shabby on that front. Baring in mind I've only had the PC only half a day, I can't comment on longevity, but I am blown away by the power of this little PC. I will update my review after I've dug into it some more, but my initial review is 5/5.

Impressive Mini PC
I got the SER5 Pro 5600H 16GB RAM 500GB Storgae version at a very reasonable Black Friday price. The PC is tiny, just about silent (most of the time) and is very easy and quick to setup. For the price you pay, it is very fast! You might hit a minor bum in the road with drivers, but that is already mentioned in another review. The display driver front-end would not load within a hour of setting up the PC, which was because the driver had been updated by Windows Update, but the user interface had not, so it was not happy - the drivers and interface installed by the factory were from 2021. I went to the AMD website, chose support, then looked through the various options, which took a bit of wading through! (I have included an image of the options you need for the 5600H) Upon installing the correct driver, all was back to normal and performing well. Remember to look under Windows Update options and install the Optional Updates to update the other drivers for the PC. The PC is very smooth and stable in operation and with a tiny physical footprint, there is everything to like. The SSD is an NVME drive by Kingston (SNVS500G as reported by Speccy) and the RAM I got was from Crucial (2 x CT8G4SFS632A.M4FE DDR4-3200 as reported by Speccy). It all seems to work well. My only niggle is a personal limitation I hit, which is the length of the power lead cable, which could be a bit longer, other than that, I cannot find any issues that stop this PC being amazing value. This PC does not have a seperate graphics card like a full-sized tower gaming PC. It has graphics capability built into the processor, so you have to be realistic about what it can run in terms of gaming...the price I paid for this PC would not get you a mid-range graphics card these days! Also, in the box is a very small SATA ribbon cable, with no explanation for what it is for. I have assumed it might be fo adding a 2.5 inch SATA drive, but without taking a screwdriver to the PC, I can only guess.

3GB less RAM than you expect!
This PC is great value for money, certainly at the current (discounted) price. It seems quick and is supplied with what seem good quality components. The case is looks fine and it runs quiet, so far at least. However the ad should make clear that a big chunk of RAM is used by the graphics! I am replacing an old i5-4250U (fanless) mini PC, as I need a faster CPU. The old PC also had 16GB of RAM and I've come close to needing more, but not often enough to pay extra for a 32GB PC. I was therefore very disappointed to find this PC has 3GB less available RAM than the old PC I am replacing! I run Linux Mint and (depending where you look) the old PC had 15.5 GiB or 15.9 GiB of RAM available for use. This one has only 12.6 GiB available for use. I wrote to the seller and was told :- "This is a normal difference and is common to any other brand in the industry because: 1. System reserved memory: The operating system reserves a portion of memory for system operation and management tasks. 2. This product uses an integrated graphics card, and the system will allocate part of the memory as video memory for the graphics card to use." I have several other Linux PCs and none of them is reporting anything like 3GB of RAM "missing".

Tiny but very poweful
After my huge Dell box gave up the ghost, a friend recommended this. Takes up very little space, yet still had room for my SSD card. Speedy start up and consistent performance over many months Great quality, excellent price and now I have somewhere to put my feet!
