Q: Why does it say "Accuracy of 5% at 50-60 Hz"... only 5% accuracy??

Looks like it measures a very specific range of frequencies (Extremely Low to Very Low), and 50Hz is the lower end of it's range. So it might pick something up down there but is made for higher signals; probably pretty accurate at say, 5kHz.

Actually, this little meter has been around for a long time; only recently coming into fashion for "ghost hunting" expeditions. It can be used by electricians, plumbers heating and air people, burglar alarm companies, etc. in the fields of home building, protecting or repair. No you need to manually shut it off

Sorry, no they do not, but I bought a cheap simple piezo buzzer from radio shack & a chrome switch & soldered it onto the board for sound, not the greatest buzzer but it works, I recently re-sold 2 of these on ebay because we prefer the Mel Meter with shadow detector built in & the cheaper Ghost Meter, they work much better after we've used all 3 for years, that's why we sold the k-2 it just got famous because they use it on Tv, but the Ghost meter has nice sound & looks good, not the Pro version of Ghost Meter, they kinda ruined it with that version, but just the plain old Ghost Meter, if you have the money spend a $100 on the mel meter if you have more get it with the shadow detector built in, it's works great,
