Good quality, wrong windscreen
I like the recorder alright- haven't had much chance to use it yet but everything seems to be working great! It arrived with a different and unusable windscreen from the one pictured though.

USELESS AFTER 2 YEARS
I purchased this product August 20th, 2015. Took great care of it, but in June of 2017, the display stopped working.I contacted Zoom and said they only cover it for a year after purchase. If I wanted a replacement it cost me an additional $200 plus $15.99 for shipping and handling.A product that costs $300 should last for more than two years.A one year warranty shows a lack of confidence in the durability of the product.Other than that, the Zoom is easy to use. Easy to record. Great sound. Light weight. However, I will be looking for a more durable product to replace the Zoom. I had the first Zoom and that also broke in the first two years.

Everything is great except for the headphones
Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and he is very happy! He was thrilled to receive this and most of the items included are exceptional. The headphones are not great quality and look cheap. Other then that, he has been using the equipment and is very pleased.

Excellent recorder. Highly recommend
Excellent recorder. Highly recommend. Price was good and the accessories useful. I mainly wanted the dead kitten windscreen as they are so expensive individually. Batteries and card were nice to have in the box for immediate use. )The headphones are fine but I already have several closed back headphones so not a selling point for me.) Received in 2 days as promised. Delivered on a Sunday by USPS.

I've had a love and hate relationship with this recorder. So I'll start off with the pros. Now before I start let me mention that I've had the H5 for a very long time, and have used it on all my projects. However, I've taken the utmost care with all my tools because it's expensive. So here we go, the PROS:- It's pretty simple to use. Clearly shows what channels are being recorded and the knobs feel buttery smooth while adjusting.- The X-Y is very nice. At work, I use a lot of different professional mics from akg, shure, and sennheiser....etc, and I was surprised to learn that Im able to use the audio recorded from the XY with the recordings from the other mics without noticing a significant difference. I'm not saying it's on par, but the sound is still very impressive.- Everything you can ask for on the connection end (excluding USB-C, excusable for being old). And I love being able to record 3 mics at once on the go.CONS:- I absolutely abhor the plastic on the H5. The quality of the plastic is great, however, Zoom tried replicating a rubbery texture on the plastic itself. It peels off when you scratch it accidentally. And even worse it turns to this sticky tar-like substance over time. It may be my state's climate (Florida) but I had to basically wash this thing in acetone to peel off that rubbery, now sticky, material.- I really do not like that the Files cannot be renamed. It's very confusing and tedious during post, going through every audio file to listen to what's been recorded. I basically have to edit the same day as the shoot so that its fresh on my mind (what file number is what recording). In conclusion: It's a great recorder, it is easy to use and sounds great, that's why I've continued to use it. But in retrospect, if I knew that the rubber coating on the plastic body would deteriorate (in such a gross way) and knew of the frustrations I would go through during editing...I probably wouldn't have made the purchase.
