Testo Infrared Thermometer – 835 H1

Testo 835-T1: Although marketed as a professional device I think the quality and calibrated accuracy (certificate supplied) of this IR thermometer is worth paying for compared to the glut of cheap uncalibrated devices available online. It oozes useful features such as customisable emissivity table and calculating actual emissivity using a connectable k-type probe. The interface to the free PC software is useful too. A pity the USB cable isn't supplied though. The adjustable backlight setting and ability to turn off the lasers are welcome controls.Cons: None of particular note. Supplying a protective case would have been nice, though a plastic disc to cover the IR window is attached to the meter. The joystick navigation button is a little oversensitive. I would also have liked to see a laminated emissivity table included but they're easy enough to find online.I have to give this a firm recommendation. IR thermometers are notoriously difficult to use accurately. With this one you have every chance of getting an accurate reading providing you use it inline with the user guide.
