Would you be able to play a recorded dvd on computer

Yes I have done this many times. You have to make sure that the disc you are recording to is Finalised, for it to play on a computer or DVD players. If you use DVD-R discs this will mean that the material can be deleted on the Panasonic machine but reduces the length of recording time. More versatile are the DVD-RW discs which when you are finished viewing the material, can be put back into the Panasonic machine and select Formatting which wipes the disc for you to record again. To enter the Format or Finalising program press the remote control button marked 'Function Menu' and scroll down to 'Others'. From the Drp down list on the right select DVD Management which gives you the choice to Finalise (to play on a computer) You may find that the computer MAY need an adjustment.

Can an external hard drive be attached to record tv. i made a mistake when i ordered this, i thought it had a hdd.

The Panasonic DMR-EZ49V does not allow connnection of an external hard drive for recording , only a USB Hard drive or USB Pen stick to view Jpegs or playback MP3 files. The model your require is the Panasonic DMREX98 which comes with a built in 250Gb hard drive for recording from terrestial TV , plus VHS and DVD recorder drive. look for any instructions

no instruction leaflet all looks ok but taking time to unpack as I am somewhat restricted however I managed to connect it up and it works very well recording on VHS and playback was good DV PLAYER WORKS WELL SO GOOD ALL ROUND BUT to-day it started chewing tapes 1/8/2025 and now I need another one as I have spent £500 plus on 2 of these players I am reluctant to spend more on another I DON'T send them back they go in the dustbin to re-cycle best of luck with that these are very old players I bought one brand new from Argos years ago think it was 2006

classic video to DVD machine

I am very pleased with this Item, as I have quite a few old V.H.S videos and this machine give me a chance to convert my favourite videos into a DVD format. I would recommend this item to anyone who want's to do the same thing

Performance very good

For a long-time user of pure VHS machines this equipment takes a bit of getting used to. The supplied manual was in French, but it was easy to download an English version. The VHS player is less than perfect - quite jumpy, even on practically unused pre-recorded tapes that played OK in my old VHS machine until it died. Adjusting the tracking helped a little, but only a little. On the other hand, it is a refurbished machine, so less than perfect is to be expected. DVD recording and playback is fine. Had some problems with the original equipment sent but the supplier rapidly replaced the item, so no complaints there. Remote control works fine.

dose not work

This item dose not work. When I switch it on the picture on my tv starts to jump. I'v tried putting a tape in, but the picture continues to jump.

I have had this model before from new, but ...

I have had this model before from new, but recently although the DVD and VHS record/play functions continue to operate the Freeview feature has stopped working. Difficult to find a repairer, so this unit stands in perfectly to do the same things.
