Apple Mac Mini 2012 i5 1TB 8GB RAM Silver

Bought this specifically for using it for 3d printing. After a bit of research, and identifying the year this model came out, I bought it. It will run the open source software I need, Orca Slicer, plus Freecad. While I was expecting a 4gig memory device, the one I received actually had 8gigs of memory. For me, a bonus. Plus it has more then enough hard drive storage. 469 gigs of space free for my files and software. Easy to use, a few minor scuffs on the bottom rubber foot where the unit rests, but no scratches on the sides or top. Very nice unit. Plus, for what I am using it for, it is responsive and speedy. Worth the price. Very happy with purchase.

I mean this specific generation will be 9 years old this year. I purchased this with the intent to set it up as a server and let it run 24/7 with very little hands on time once it's up and running. I've used other Mac Minis in the past for similar projects and they are awesome for this type of stuff. The particular Mac Mini I recived runs much slower than I was expecting. MUCH slower. Chalking it up to the age, and since it's not a daily driver for me I kept it. However, don't purchase this if you are wanting to use it as your main computer. You will quickly get frustrated. Spend a bit more money on a newer model. This works for me and the needs of the project I intended it for so I am content. Getting it all set up did take probably double the time it should have though.

Not at all "refurbished" or "Very Good" -- the former owner's Apple ID password is required, so the computer is completely unusable! Also, the case was dirty, the computer had no protective padding at all, just loose to bounce around in its box, and it was a 2014, not 1 2012! However, all that hardly matters if the computer simply refuses to operate without the former owner's password -- which, of course, Amazon did not provide me. Absolutely deceptive advertising and unsatisfactory results!

The Apple Mac Mini is a great computer for the price.

I bought this computer for the sole purpose of learning how to implement firewalls on a Mac computer and Terminal commands for my IT studies since I am a Windows guy rather than a Mac. The computer had more scratches and dings on it than anticipated but it worked fine for my purposes since it is cheap (for a Mac) and I will only be using this a few months for my studies. The reason for giving it three stars instead of four (due to the scratches and dings) is because the advertising is misleading to the average person. While the description is accurate that this is the newest version of this particular model most people who are not in IT or Apple fans will not understand that this is not by any stretch of the imagination the latest version of the Mac Mini. In fact, this will not even run the latest version of the Mac OS. This computer was built in 2014. As of the time of my review macOS 14 Sonoma is out and the hardware on this nine year old computer will not work with it. The latest Operating System that this computer will run is macOS 12 Monterey which was released in June of 2021. Monterey will probably be supported until the next version of the Mac OS is released next fall so it will be safe to keep online until then but if you are looking to have a computer that you want to use safely for more than a year I would recommend that you purchase at least a 2018 model or newer.

Arrived in good shape, however the product listing is misleading. it says it's the latest version, it's not. it's a 2014 model. it also says it can be updated to latest osx, again that's is incorrect. Finally it says it has 16 gigs of ram in the description, although title says 8 gigs of ram. Title is correct, description is wrong. Keeping these details in mind, while it can't update to the latest osx it can get pretty close. Although not close enough for you to use your iCloud account if you have used it with a newer version of osx or iOS. That aside, the device is in good shape, runs well, and if that's all you need then I recommend it. If you need newer iOS, or use iCloud a lot and have newer devices, don't get it.

Lo utilizo normalmente para abrir aplicaciones y ventanas de word, pdf, imágenes, navegador de internet, spotify y ya, aunque a veces necesite de otras aplicaciones para mis actividades. Lo que me gusta es que no se traba al tener muchas ventanas abiertas como cuando trabajaba en Windows, y eso, a pesar de que es un procesador algo viejo. Quizá se llega a notar algún desfase de velocidad cuando está muy saturado el procesador pero no es tan seguido. No se calienta a menos que lo estés súper actualizando, no hace ruido y hasta ahorita han funcionado todos sus puertos y conexiones. Si recomiendo usar mouse y teclado de Apple para evitar retrasos, ya que los genéricos quizá están programados para que no funcionen correctamente en el mini Mac, ya que en mi otra laptop no tienen retrasos. No es una súper computadora pero por el costo, el beneficio es satisfactorio.

Realmente fue una gran compra para reutilizar mi monitor y demás accesorios
