Less anxiety, more peace of mind
Natural Gas Detector, Y302 Pro 3 in 1 Plug-in Combustible Gas Leak Detector Monitor(Gas, Temperature and Humidity Display) for LNG,LPG,Methane, in Kitchen,Propane Gas Detector for Home(1Pack: I got this to detect any natural gas leaks that might occur. After having a gas leak detected in our fireplace in December, after a routine inspection, I was very uneasy. When I saw this detector, I decided to order it. My husband did a few things to test it out, it works. It was easy to set up and install. My anxiety has gone down a level or two, just knowing it’s there.

Natural gas leak detector
I feel more secure, having a detector monitoring for any natural gas leaks.

Detected Explosive Gas quickly!
This evaluation is for the Y302Pro (explosive gas detector) only.I plugged it into the AC power and the display immediately lit up, counting down each second on the display from 150 to 0 (to allow the sensor to "warm up"). Once it reached 0, the display blacklight turned off, it emitted two quick beeps and the unit displayed "0" LEL, the current temperature and relative humidity, now in normal monitor mode. Then, I pressed the [TEST] button and released it. The display lit up and the unit beeped a total of 10 times, then went back into monitor mode, so that test worked. Finally, the "real test" was next... I took a portable lighter, turned it on (so it had a flame), then blew out the flame keeping the gas flowing and brought it right in front of the unit. Within about 8 seconds, the unit began beeping about 2 times a second and displayed the word "GAS" along with the percent, which in this case was 9%. At that point, I turned off the lighter and the display eventually showed lower and lower values of the detected gas percent. As the gas level further decreased, the frequency of the beeping started to slow down. Once it dropped below 5%LEL, the beeping stopped and the display reset to monitor mode. It passed the real gas test with flying colors!I feel very confident this will continue to monitor for any explosive gases (like propane or gas from a standard stove) and give that extra warning and protection from any possible explosion due to a gas leak. Please be advised that my unit (Y302Pro) ONLY monitors for explosive gas and does not monitor for carbon monoxide! If you would like that type of dual monitor, this manufacturer does have that available, too. What I like:Passed all tests, detected actual explosive gas quickly.Seems like a very solid build. You can have the backlight stay on permanently, which is very helpful to use the unit as a nightlight as well and it's easier to see in daylight!Standard warranty is for two years, but if you register your device, the manufacturer offers a total of 3 years warranty. What I didn't like:The volume of the alarm did not seem to be very loud tp me. If I were in another room I could definately hear it. If I were on another floor of my house, it is hard to hear. It would be a great update to the unit if the manufacturer could make it a little louder. Other than that, it's perfect and offers peace of mind!!

small; easy to install and use; works exactly as advertised
Got this as a means of detecting propane leaks in our household propane system. We have other detectors in our laundry room and a few other areas near bedrooms to detect LPG and/or CO2; this detector is going into the attic to monitor ambient temp and humidity as well as act as an early warning device if the gas system should get a leak in the attic.Since I'm a proponent of "Test; Don't Guess", I decided to take this detector outside and do a quick field test to see if it would trigger in the presence of propane gas.upload file size limitations prevented me from sharing the video of this test, but the results were encouraging.I powered up the detector on an extension cord outside in a safe area away from flammables and let it bring the gas sensor up to temp (which takes about 150 seconds).Once the detector has warmed up and made it's second set of happy beeps, I positioned a propane de-icing wand about 12" from the detector and barely turned on the propane.Within less than two seconds the detector went into alarm as the gas level display went past the 5ppm mark; exactly as designed. One I removed the propane source, the gas level quickly dropped and the detector stopped its alarm and reset to zero.Once thing to try and be mindful of is to try and plug this detector in as close to the floor level as possible, since propane is slightly heavier than air, and tends to collect closer to the floor or ground. Also periodically wipe the detector down and inspect it for debris or damage.

So far so good
I have been known to hit the knobs on my gas stove before, and I was looking for this exact product. It does freak me out each time I unplug it that it counts down and beeps as it resets. I try to remember to do this when the dogs are outside as it scares them.

Natural Gas Detector
Having this natural gas detector is beneficial because it provides early warning of potentially dangerous gas leaks, which can lead to explosions, fires, and serious health hazards, ultimately saving lives and property.

Works
Works ... I think. It hasn't alarmed, so I believe it is working.
