Great Cooling Pad!!
This is a great cooling pad! I previously owned a cheaper pad that was decent but this pad by Razer is far better. The build quality is nice, the extra USB ports on the back are useful and work well, and the fan works great via Razer Synapse, you can even see your systems CPU and GPU temps in the Synapse app! The pad performs well, it’s powered by a wall plug so the fan is powerful and the chamber design does a good job sealing cold air inside. The auto fan is a nice feature with different presets like Quiet, Balanced, and Performance that you can manually change fan curves but I prefer to manually set the RPM of my fan to a fixed speed and for that it has 3 different preset custom fan speeds from Low, Medium, and High that you can also change! The front RBG light strip is also nice, its noticeable without being too much and is fully customizable via Chroma extension app included with Synapse which is neat. On average I was seeing about 10-20 degrees Celsius cooler temps while gaming compared to about 5 degrees Celsius I got with my previous pad, so it’s easily 2-3x better then my previous one. This cooling pad works great with my Razer 17 and overall I’m really satisfied with it and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality cooling pad for their gaming laptop!

Cooling Beast
Before I purchased this cooling pad I had a cheap Chinese pad with four fans and zero software. I ran the Chinese pad on max all the time but it barely made a difference. There was nothing in the way of dust filtration in the Chinese pad.Razer has outdone themselves concerning the design of this cooling pad. The plastic is very sturdy and the stand is at a perfect angle. This cooling pad also doubles as a USB-A hub, with appropriate space for cables underneath the pad. The foam serves to insulate the underside of a laptop from dust, and there is dust filtration on the fan as well. While gaming this cooling pad offers significant performance gains. The fan will easily go up to full speed and generate a substantial amount of noise. I can hear this noise occasionally through headphones but it doesn't bother me too much. The game soundtrack should cover up the fan noise as well. The software allows you to see temps, manually set the fan speed, set the fan to adaptive mode, and control the LED bar on the bottom of the pad. I use the fan on adaptive mode since it usually runs slowly enough that I cannot hear it or I have tuned it out. I have the LED set to Razer green, but you can easily turn it off. You can also use a plethora of LED modes like "breathe" or "rainbow".Overall the cooling pad is worth the cost. Razer may have added a little "brand tax" but this cooling pad is reliably performant. There are cheaper cooling pads from China that serve the same purpose, but they do not usually offer the gains this pad delivers. The build quality is also lacking in many of the cheaper options.

Does this justify the price when you can get something way cheaper?
I have a cheaper, generic laptop cooler that works very well and cost $120 cheaper. Lots of fans and you can run it at low speed. It works..... But there was no way to turn the rgb lights off. I am not at a dance club.... I am trying to focus on being productive. That is what led me to the razer version of a laptop cooler.1. It's solid. I love how well it is built.2. Good seal to pull out hot air. It works amazingly well. I only need to run it on speed 1 of 3.3. Speeds 2 and 3 are loud and very loud. If music is playing it's no concern. Guess it's good to have it if you need it.4. I keep the leds either off or razer green.5. I have the new razer blade 18 2025 with 5080. It keeps it very cool (gpu) when rendering. I think it gets up to 44°C once but that was rendered so fast I didn't really get to test it out.Verdict : if you need something to cool your system, this will do it very well. It's expensive. But it works well and the design is better than others I have used.

Solid Cooling stand/pad with a few Caveats
Overall, this is a well made cooling stand that offers quite a few bells and whistles for what is ostensibly a fan in a plastic stand.Pros- Extremely powerful fan/airflow, I noticed a solid 10+ Celsius temperature reduction on my Asus TUF 16 with a 4070 TI and Ryzen processor when I had the cooling stand at medium fan speed- Stand lifts the laptop several inches off the ground, ensuring good airflow intake and reduced dust intake- Customizable inserts allow you to use a variety of laptop options and sizes, even those that don't have intake vents on the bottom can still be cooled using the "Frame C" insert without the sealing sponge.- Built in USB hub with three ports simplifies plugging in keyboards/mice quite nicely- Manual power and fan speed buttons are easy to access on the side of the pad and the speed indicators are nicely visible in the front of the stand using a series of Green Bar lights indicating the current fan speed- Power passthrough intelligently shuts off the cooling pad when you power off your laptop without having to manually shut the power off or turn it back on when you power the laptop back on.- RGB is surprisingly muted on this stand, giving a nice glow near the front of the stand without being too ostentatious- Removeable/serviceable fan filterCons- Allegedly this stand claims to have "Dynamic Fan Control" via Razer's "Synapse" software, however i could not figure out how to make this work. I installed the Synapse software on my Windows 11 laptop but it did not detect this stand at all, even after rebooting it. I'm not sure if it's sending a background signal using the CPU's power/temperature sensor to adjust the fan speed, but I couldn't see that happening during my gameplay sessions. I had to rely on manual fan control to adjust the fan speed using the external buttons on the side of the stand- Probably the biggest black mark and reason for removing the star. While this laptop stand absolutely does a bang up job on cooling, this thing is LOUD. I'm sure most folks who have powerful laptops that need this kind of additional cooling will already be using headphones to game and content create, so it shouldn't affect them too much, but it cannot be overstated just how loud this thing is, even on medium speeds. The low speed fan noise isn't too bad, you kind of hear it like a low hum in the background, but moving the speed up to medium when I switched from working to gaming really kicked up the noise levels and made me appreciative of my headphones. If you have a significant other or roommate sharing the same space as this thing, it will annoy them as the blower noise is extremely present at medium speeds and higher. It has the same hum/fan noise as a microwave, that would be the best allegory I could assign to it.I couldn't even imagine running this on high speeds without really good headphones or being in your own room with a door shut as the noise absolutely carries across my apartment on max speeds.- Lack of USB C ports. This is more of a smaller complaint, but the with the proliferation of USB-C type peripherals, including fancier keyboards and other devices, limiting the built in powered hub to only 3 USB Type-A ports does kind of detract from the USB hub functionality from this stand, if only from a "future proof" standpointOverall I'm very happy with the purchase here. It is a noisy cooling stand yes, but the ease of setup, customizability, and temperature benefits I can see with my laptop, this stand is worth the investment.
