CR Best Buy
The media could not be loaded. NOTE: Video magnified sound a lot. I use CR for most purchases and this is one of them. Top rated in all categories that matter. Works perfect from the time i plugged it in. Tank fills in less than 24 hr so i know its working. Capacity was important to me since emptying it is the main chore, but i plan to connect the included drain plug to the outside. Actually, you could put it on a table or countertop and drain right into a sink for a quick and dirty setup. Easy to lift the pail out with the handle and empty and slide back in. I wish it went below 35% but house feels great when lowered from the current existing 50% humidity to 35%. Humidity here in the south will get up to 90-100% in summer so that's when it will really make a difference, and 35% will feel like paradise. And air conditioning doesn't remove all the moisture. Even in the winter right now, we get high humidity days that just make you feel yucchy. Noise is quite low and no more than most standard fans or portable heaters. Exhaust air is just slightly on the warm side so doesn't make the house colder in the winter. Remember, 10 out of 10 people that get a defective product will want to tell the world about how they were wronged. but fewer people will take the time to give feedback when it works as expected. CR is the gold standard for unbiased, scientifically rating all features of a product, and is worth the small subscription fee.

Loud but does a great job
This product was very easy to setup. I have found after using it for several months that it is loud but does a very good job. Since it is easy to move we move it from spot to spot so that it does not bother us. I would highly recommend it but take note of the noise level.

So far, so good!
Considering the fact that dehumidifiers are practically disposable these days, I am really hoping this one lasts for a while. Easy setup, simple operation, quiet and effective humidity removal. The filter is very easy to remove and clean, which is a big advantage compared to my previous couple of dehumidifiers, which required removal of the bucket to access. Very happy with this product after a month of continuous use.

works well, loud, emits hot air
I've set this up in my basement and it is doing the job. it is not quiet, however, and pushes out a lot of hot air in the process. The unit roles easily. The water container is a bit awkward to empty. I prefer the LG model I set up in another area.

Did Not Work. Useless warranty.
My Frigidaire Dehumidifier failed after 15 months so I tried this one with a two year warranty. It did not work out of the box. The fan ran all the time and the condenser some of the time but it could not lower the humidity at all. The room was at 60 humidity. Danby would not replace it under warranty, they would only pay for service if I brought it to an authorized repair location. I live in the woods of NH and knew it would involve a long trip. Useless warranty.

Not as good as old model
I bought this to replace an eight year old Danby that gave up working. This unit never got within the five percent humid level and would never shut off. When I shut it off one day it would not go back on. Display would light up and fan button light would work. Only way to start it was to push the continuous run button, Phoned Dandy and was told not to run continuously which it does because it never get down to set humidity. Was told to hard reset unit, that is unplug for half and hour and then replug, this worked but in a couple of days lit happened again. This went on for a couple of days and Danby told me to send it back. This unit has a timer on it but only for one time use, you have to set the start and stop every time you want to use the timer. Pretty usless in my opinion, I used a timer on my old one and it got the humiditky down to the set level and would stop and would turn on again when it rose. Returning it and will buy another model of make. Now I have to pack it up and get it out of my basement and it is heavy.

Quieter, more efficient, and works very well!
I am so happy with this unit! It appears to be a little complicated in the instructions, but not as bad as I thought. My old unit gave out after 15 years of operation. This one is quieter, more efficient, maintains the set humidity level in my basement and throughout the house when the AC is on. I never heard of this company, but so far it's an excellent product.

Quiet, Very Quiet
I use this dehumidifier in my basement. It is very quiet and does a great job of dehumidifying. My only knock against it is that using the gravity drain feature is very fussy. I had to rearrange the drain hose several times to get it to drain through the hose and into my condensation pump. Mere downhill draining from the hose is not enough (I tested each iteration by pouring water into the hose. It always worked fine but the unit would still fill the reservoir.)If you are planning to use the drain feature, do yourself a favor and buy the version with a pump -- even if it is draining downhill.
