Just get it! I bought the CORDED version bksit's always ready for work! Batteres have to be constantly maintained to serve long time, but who is going to keep charging during winter time? It's like electronic calipers - when you need to use the battery is depleted...but mechanical is always ready.Corged version is SAFE bks in reality it's 12V.It has long cord and can be connected to car battery or to included power adapter so, you can use house 110V. I used device on Sunfish and Panfish (just clipped off the dangerous upper finns before anything). Working perfectly! Quite! Fast, like 30 seconds per fish. Start FROM head and keep shaving towards tail. On small fish - to keep you hands safe, I just drive the knife through the fishhead to the wooden board. So my left hand just holding the knife instead of fish. DON'T use any pressure. Just slightly move shaver to the tail. I was able to use the very end of rotation blade to work sideways in tiny areas too! Conns: scales flying everywhere, better do it outside or put cardboard box to catch them. It is much easier to hold shaver by black part on the middle for better control. Just get one, quick learning and you are happy.

this thing works great! It does take a little getting used to though; and you can rip your fish up if you're not careful. Once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. Wish I had gotten one sooner. I love it.

Certainly did the job but it requires a gentle hand. It’ll tear up both fish and human skin. A good glove is a must.

It works a little to well frankly if you are not careful you can tear your fish to the bone! Also the scale guards are to small, hard to control where the scales are going. I use this inside a building directing scales are crucial.
