Loving it so far!
Over the past few years I have purchased a number of the normal FireTVs for some of our bedrooms and my older sons heading off to college. They have performed quite well, possibly amazing, for the price. In our living room we have an expensive large OLED that has truly been great but as noted was quite expensive. While I work from home, I work a lot, even on the weekends at times so I have been looking for something to put in my office. While as basic TV would have worked just fine I have gotten a little spoiled with the OLED. However I just didn't need to spend that kind of money for a secondary TV. As the office is also used to gaming on the weekends, I did want something with at least 120 Hrz refresh that would work with consoles. After doing some research I thought I had a decision back around Thanksgiving then I notice the new FireTV Omni Mini-LED. The list price was a little higher than I wanted but I couldn't find any reviews so I waited. However with looming price increases on the horizon decided to make a decision now. Even though the some of the review noted issues, it's known than more people leave reviews if they have issues than if they are happy, I decided to take a chance is get the Amazon Fire TV 55" Omni Mini-LED Series and I couldn't be happier. The menus, after the updates, is quite fast. The FireTV interface is very easy to use and has all the apps I need. While I haven't tested with a console yet, sports in 4K look amazing and you can definitely tell a difference between the 60Hrz and 120 Hrz, the sound is excellent and the picture is simply stunning! Is the sound as good an expensive sound bar or home theater system, no, but it's better than almost any TV I have heard in years. Is the picture as good as my OLED that cost 5x as much? No but it's pretty darn close. Connectivity to WiFi has been excellent and I'm running about 500 Mbps on a gig connection over an Eero Max 7 system. Those are both Amazon products so I expected them to work well together and they do. While most weekend nights it may just be streaming Twitch or watching sports during the day it's been nice to have the news on in the background this week and I've watched a couple of movies while working in the evenings. Overall, especially considering I got it on sale, I've very pleased with my purchase and price. Truly it is exactly what I was looking for in this case. While noted it may not be as great as the TV costing 5 times as much... considering the picture vs cost if this had been out a couple of years ago I would easily saved $1500 vs what I got our primary OLED for and purchased the larger version of this. To me there is a point of diminishing returns, I don't need perfection on color accuracy or black level, just close enough with the right features. Fantastic television, especially if you can pick it up with at least a little discount! Edit Nov 2025 - Still love the TV, it's been great for sports and Amazon has updated the software as expected. However I need to note that with those updates it's gotten very slow in regards to menus and loading applications... very frustrated as the picture and sound are great. To fix the problem I picked up a FireStick 4K Max and it's quite a bit faster. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have included that processor and memory instead of whatever is inside the TV.

Incredible visuals, awesome features for movies and games at a reasonable price
Prior to this I owned a pretty basic Sharp 50" 4k Roku TV that I bought in 2018. It has served me well for over 6 years at this point, but recently it became pretty evident to me that I was missing out on a lot of new and cool features that newer TV's had. I'm not wealthy. I don't have the luxury of being able to spend thousands of dollars on a huge OLED tv, though that is a personal goal of mine. I am VERY INVESTED in personal entertainment though. I spend a sizeable amount of my income on high-end electronic hobbies like video games and the home theater experience. When I play on my Series X or watch a 4k bluray, I want to feel like I'm getting everything out of the experience. This TV is perfect for this goal, at a VERY reasonable price. This TV supports HDR, VRR, Dolby Vision and Atmos, 144 hz gaming, and a ton of other high end features that complement the current state of gaming and home cinema. I've had this TV for a couple of days and I've seen parts of some movies and played quite a few videogames on it, and it has been like a night and day experience when compared to my old Sharp 4k TV. I played a little bit of Resident Evil 2 remake and was astounded at the sound and the visuals. Walking around with the flashlight in a pitch dark room felt palpably scary. Hearing all the creaks and groans around me with an actual discernible spatial quality was terrific and terrifying. I got this TV with the Fire TV Soundbar Plus and it has been a truly wonderful experience using these products together. Set up is ridiculously easy, and it feels like these products were designed with the other in mind. The height of the TV allows for the soundbar to comfortably sit beneath it. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase. It feels like a proper upgrade from my old TV.

“Fire Up Your Bedroom Binge-Watching!”
I grabbed this 55” Amazon Fire TV for my bedroom, and honestly—it’s been a total game-changer. The picture quality is sharp, colors pop, and the Fire OS is super smooth and easy to navigate. I love having all my streaming apps right at my fingertips without juggling multiple remotes. Setup was a breeze, and the Alexa voice remote actually works well, which is a nice bonus when you’re cozy in bed. Perfect size—not overwhelming like a living room TV, but still big enough to make movie nights feel special. If you want a reliable, affordable, and user-friendly TV for your bedroom, this one hits the mark. No fuss, just great streaming and chill vibes.

Updated: glitching picture and sound unbearable
I got this to replace an old Samsung and I was better off with the old tv. The sound goes in and out often ( skipping) , it's made much worse when using my Fire sound bar which you think would be compatible. The picture mode changes from dark to light at random times ( I understand its supposed to fo this but it isn't for the better) and things take time to load sometimes. Mind you I am very technologically inclined and have spent hours tweaking all the settings for days until things seemed better. The picture quality and sound ( even without soundbar) when "not glitching" is very good so I'm going to keep it. Right now its behaving for the most part but its super temperamental and if it hadn't had been for me using AI to walk me thru countless settings and tweaks for days it would be unwatchable. Also my settings often revert back so thats frustrating. UPDATE: After almost 2 months i can barely tolerate the non stop picture dimming and constant skipping sound, lagging and app crashing. This tv is a huge, huge dissapointment. Going to try to return if i can fit in my car.
