Better than floss
I've been using a Braun Oral B electric toothbrush or a Sonicare electric toothbrush for well over 20 years. Both are good products and both are getting better every time I wear out one of the units and need to replace it, every few years when it won't hold a charge. The heads have to be replaced when they wear down over 6-12 weeks. There's a color indicator to let you know. I've been using the Oral B consistently for quite some time; years in fact. I've tried a number of different heads and theFloss Action seem to work the best as I get rave reviews from my hygienist when I go. I think these heads get into the nooks and crannies and between the teeth the best and, dare I say, better than floss (don't tell her I said so, she'll send the floss police after me), especially when coupled with a manual Proxabrush that goes between the teeth where the space is wide enough to accept it. There are a variety of sizes and devices to attach. My dentist gives them away at cleanings. If yours does as well, take them along with a handle next time and give them whirl. And look into an electric toothbrush. You'll never look back and your gum health and teeth health will be leaps and bounds better.

Fake or Genuine?
Several messages here have alleged that Amazon is selling replacement heads that said to have been made by Oral B (Braun) but are actually fakes. That has not been my experience. Some have provided photos with claims that this is what the fake packaging looks like and that is what the real thing looks like. Take such photos with several grains of salt. Oral B has changed its packaging several times. One photo of a putative fake is identical to the packaging used recently by Oral B, snd the genuine packaging has changed even more recently. One reviewer suggested that you go to the Oral B site to buy your heads rather than shopping at Amazon -- but guess what -- if you go to the Oral B site they provide you several links for retailers who sell their products, and one of them leads right here, to this product at Amazon. Bottom line is, the brush heads I have purchased from Amazon work fine, appear to be identical to those that came with the toothbrush, and perform just as did those that came with the toothbrush. If someone has produced a fake and conned Amazon into selling it (highly unlikely, IMHO), the fake is of such good quality that it is a non-issue.

OK
I've been using the Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush for the last 10+ years. Usually, I buy the regular, round Flexisoft brush heads. The last time I tried to purchase them, however, the store was out of stock. But they did have these, and at a significantly lower price compared to the Flexisofts, so I decided to give them a try. They work well. They deliver that nice, absolutely clean feeling that we all love and expect from our Oral-B's. In this regard, they are at least the equivalent of the Flexisofts, and they may even be slightly superior.Braun embeds 4 little rubber "paddles" into the brush head to, according to them, get between the teeth giving the same benefit as Dental Floss. I can not detect any "flossing" from the brush, but that would be difficult to assess. It may be that the "paddles" do get between teeth more effectively than the regular bristles, but only your dentist would be able to tell. They cause no discomfort. The brushing feels slightly different, but not unpleasant. The chief drawback, as far as I am concerned, is that the brush head has been enlarged to accommodate the flossers. Rather than being circular, like the regular heads, it is an oval. The width is the same, but the height is about half again as large. I think that one of the Oral-B's great strengths is that the small heads can be maneuvered in such a way that you can clean every surface of every tooth. That is slightly (but only slightly) compromised here because of the larger size. When I need to replace these, I will look for the regular Oral-B Flexisoft replacement heads. In my opinion, those are the best. But if I can't find them, I would not hesitate to buy these again.***UPDATE 2/2011: It amazes me, but there appears to be a *thriving* market in counterfeit Oral-B Brush Heads! I purchase them only when they come directly from Amazon. Under the price, where it says "Sold By" make sure that it says "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." If it doesn't, look over on the right side of the page where it says, "More Buying Choices," and see if you can find one that says Amazon. Some of the Third Party Vendors are quite good, but I don't think they are carefully monitored so, when in doubt, stick with Mother Amazon.
