Your body has to adapt apparently
UPDATED REVIEW 1/27/2026: I’m changing from 3 to 5 stars. I continued to use the pillow and my pain frequency/headaches/neck issues have decreased so drastically it’s actually amazing! as I said in my initial review, the first night was rough, but I cannot go a night without this pillow now! I’ve been having TMJ, tension headaches and awful migraines so I wanted to try this to see if it would help. A few things - The smell: I didn’t notice the smell some people talk about. Maybe I just got lucky but mine didn’t have any noticeable scent unless I bury my face in it and inhale. Comfort: it’s meant to keep you in place laying down. Impossible to watch tv or look at your phone comfortably. But I guess that’s good if you’re looking to reduce screen time. Pain relief: in the middle of the night I woke up and my neck hurt so bad I couldn’t even turn my head. I flipped the pillow so that the grey part was at my shoulders and in the morning I was no longer in pain. Not sure it provides the same support and I’m aware the company says you need 2 weeks to adapt if pain occurs. However I’ve got a job and stuff to do so personally I can’t go 2 weeks without being able to turn my head until I “adapt.” Gonna keep trying it upside down to see if I get any relief that way but I wouldn’t repurchase

My 34 year long search for the right pillow is FINALLYover...
I have struggled with neck pain my whole life. I was in a horrible car accident when I was 11 that left 2 vertebrae's that are bone touching bone. I'm now 45 and have spent the past 34 years struggling with neck pain caused by pillows that are unable to give me the support I need. Some give too much lift, while others are too soft to offer any real support. But this pillow is perfect, for me! I finally, for the first time in 34 years, have woken up without any neck pain or headaches. I feel more rested than ever before. My husband is also sleeping better because I'm not snoring as much.🤣 The shape of this pillow is odd, but it serves a purpose. PLEASE BE SURE YOU HAVE IT IN THE RIGHT POSITION/DIRECTION BEFORE USING IT or you will boat definitely hurt yourself and miss out on it's full potential. Side sleeping: * it's design allows you to side sleep comfortably WITHOUT a face full of pillow. * if you're a side sleeper that puts their arm under the pillow, then this pillow is perfect for you. It molds itself to the shape of your arm while still offering the support you need for your neck. Back sleeping: * the sides of the pillow are designed for all of us who sleep with our arms up along side the pillow. You arm tucks in nicely without losing the shape or position of the pillow, leaving your neck support Undisturbed. * Just the right amount of support to keep your head and shoulders level with one another. This also helps to keep your airways more open, which means LESS SNORING! Yay. All in all this is an amazing pillow. I wish I found it sooner. It's worth every penny....but only if you use it properly...so be mindful of that.

It healed me !
I give credit to this pillow for curing my neck issue. I am mainly a side sleeper. I have had a 5 year history of acute Cervical Radiculopathy. A few months ago I developed a severe trigger point in my neck on the left side. Nothing seemed to relieve it. I thought I would try a new pillow. I looked at several pricey pillows and decided on this one. I admit I had some skepticism. But I chose it due to its claim of helping side sleepers with proper neck and body alignment. It felt a bit firm at 1st , but the paperwork said to give it a few weeks to witness a difference. I am glad i did. Just follow the recommendation on how to position your head and neck and all of a sudden you feel it begin to be comfortable and work. My trigger point disappeared and my neck started feeling much better. I believe it is due to how the pillow properly aligns your neck, shoulder, and body. I seriously believe it made a difference with my healing. Still using it and having no neck issues. Give it a try.

Feels great.. until you move in your sleep.
Works well if you lay on your back only and don’t move at all in your sleep, which is unlikely. I’d move from direct center of the pillow in my sleep and wake up in more neck pain than before. Ended up having to get rid of it. If you lay perfectly centered, it is comfy though and it did seem well made.

I Love This Pillow!!
I was having trouble sleeping through the night. I couldn't figure it out. I would wake up some mornings. I had neck strain and even some mild numbness in the face. I went to my doctor and got a clean bill of health. One night, I woke up in the middle of the night and realized it was my sleeping position. I sleep mostly on my side, falling asleep with the TV on most nights. I decided to look for a pillow that offered some support. I decided on the Misiki, the price was right and the reviews were positive. The first night I received my pillow, I tossed a pillow case on it and settled in. I was surprised on the first night, I didn't wake up not once. I usually change positions several times in a night. I slept soundly without tossing or changing positions throughout the night. The pillow height seems low but it's actually perfect. When I lay on my side, I feel absolutely no neck strain. This is now my new favorite thing. Pillow has smell upon arrival. I also like that it doesn't seem to absorb heat the way a normal pillow does, which allows you to sleep soundly and deeply without having to constantly adjust for comfort. I would definitely recommend if you have any of the sleeping habits that I've described. I have to admit my only peeve is that I've had to constantly go back and look at the picture to remember the proper position, it's a weird shape but it feels good. I was definitely surprised, I was sure this was going to be a waste of money and wasn't going to make much of a difference. The difference is like night and day. Great product.

I love this pillow! While pricier than some others it is comfortable and makes a noticeable different with my nightly neck pain and jaw clenching. There are also videos online to show which way to use the pillow if you are sleeping on your side, back, or stomach. I mostly use it the side and back way and like it. There is also a removable cover for washing which I appreciate.

Comfortable at first but irritating smell -- for me specifically
With a regular pillow (stuffed with chopped latex foam), I struggle throughout the night to get comfortable. I have broad shoulders and am a side sleeper. Normally, I crook my arm and place it under my pillow to support my head at the correct angle. However, this is not a pose that I can hold for more than a few hours. So, I may move to my back at some point. I seldom switch to my other side, because my bedmate snores. All that being said, this pillow was basically comfortable at first. But the smell is horrendous! (Not so much in its case as you remove it from the box; rather, when your nose is right on it after about an hour.) I have a very sensitive nose, but I did air the pillow out (without the case on) under a fan beside an open window for a few hours. I put the pillow back in its case and added a very high thread-count 100% cotton pillowcase on top and tucked the edge making it like a butterfly-shaped popover. This was my attempt to ensure being safe from the smell. BTW, the listing recommends 48 hours airing. (Really? Yes, really.) I resolved to give it the two-day airing after lying on it for about an hour. However, after about two hours on the pillow, I woke with an intense headache and an irritated sensation in my windpipe. End of sleep time. I got up, removed my cotton pillowcase into the washer, and packed the pillow back into its box for return to Amazon. You can look online and discover how some memory foam may have hazardous chemicals in it.

This pillow is wonderful!
Finally, after many tries with other bed pillows, here's one that is shaped in a way that really does make ergonomic sense. It looks a bit odd, but the shape cradles and supports your head and neck in great comfort. Not too soft, not too firm, just right. I bought one for myself and I use both sides but for different purposes. For me, the slightly lower side is best for sleeping. The other side offers the best shoulder support for lying on my side and looking at my phone (something that would hurt my shoulders before I started using this pillow). When my husband tried this pillow, he wanted one, too. So we got a second one. He has chronic pain issues and he says it is the best pillow he has ever had for getting a good night's sleep. So then we got a third one, and it works well for watching tv lying down. We didn't notice any chemical odor with any of the three pillows. To be on the safe side, we removed the zippered cover and laundered it before using. We also aired out each of the bare pillow forms for a couple of days before using. We added a zippered allergy-protection cover over the regular washable cover that comes with the pillow, and then a regular standard pillow case over that. Works fine. Be aware that one of the three pillows we bought is slightly softer than the others. It actually works better for my husband than the one that's slightly firmer. We don't know whether this difference is a deliberate change by the company or an inconsistency in manufacturing. Also, be aware that this pillow does NOT work for stomach sleeping because it lifts your face too high and the contours that work so well for sleeping on your back or side get in the way of easy breathing if you are on your stomach. For comfortable stomach sleeping I have found that I need a nearly flat pillow with a slight hourglass shape (this shape provides an indentation for your nose for easier breathing so you don't keep "fighting" with your pillow). I gave up after trying some pillows that were designed for stomach sleepers and I just converted one of them by cutting it into an hourglass shape myself. The result is a relatively small pillow that I made just wide enough for full head support. When I use this pillow, I can flip easily from one side to the other without needing to move to the other end of the pillow. This makes it so much easier to change positions during the night.
