A French detective novel (in translation) introduced me to Fleur de Sel, a salt harvested by hand from the salt marshes in Brittany. I ordered it as much for fun as anything else, but it was definitely worth it. It’s as finishing salt, used at the end of food preparation, because it’s a unique, stronger flavor than the usual table salt. I especially like it on eggs. Turns out, there’s a culture of gourmet salts, from different places and each with its own characteristics. Who knew? I did come across a recipe for Sea Salted Caramels that recommended Fleur de Sel. They were wonderful, too.

Yummy Salt! I never realized how important quality salt- Big, Salty Flakes - were to the flavor of the dish. Delicious, crunchy and salty. Yum! I took the trouble to cook the food. This salt makes it taste so much better!

I've a chef and have owned a resturrant. This is very superior gourmet salt, nothing like it for finishing a savory recipe, the very best.

Its a wonderful subtle taste

Love this salt! Once you use it, regular table salt tastes like disappointment. This stuff just hits different - the subtle little crunch makes me feel like I’m eating something prepared by a chef instead of… well, me. Total upgrade to every meal.
