I like this vacuum
This Kenmore DC5070 500 Series vacuum is a keeper. I hope it lasts as some comments say it didn't and they had trouble with it. Vacuuming is not high on my housekeeping to-dos but I have a dog that sheds quite a bit. I wanted a lightweight, bagless canister (I tried others) and this fit the bill. It is more quiet than my older Kenmore bag canister, one of the first things I noticed, other than the sturdiness of the vacuum itself. I like the great suction and the fact that the wand components click securely together. Decent cord length, longer than some others. The motorized nozzle has a light so I can see under the bed (someplace I could not vacuum with my upright) as well as everywhere else I go with it and being motorized and swivels make the job easier. It's convenient that I don't have to change the nozzle between floors or carpets. However, this vacuum does not like high pile carpet but the small brush, that conveniently fits on the back, does a decent job because of the great suction, just takes a little longer because it's smaller. My home is mostly floors with a few throw rugs so this is not a huge problem for me. Storage is easy as it hooks together to move as one piece. Lastly, the downside of bagless vacuums is the hair and dirt that needs dumping. This too is easy enough and it has a large capacity dust cup to handle my needs. No I do not like the dirt that may need to be wiped out afterwards, but that's to be expected with a bagless vacuum of any brand. I have an extra set of filter pads so I can immediately switch them out and not have to wait for them to dry after rinsing.

It does a great job on carpets as well as floors
We have a chordless stick vacuum which is decent but not very powerful. This blows it out of the park. The suction on this thing is awesome. This is easy to use and easy to clean out too.I really love that it is bagless. From online reviews, the bagged Kenmore 600 Series was really recommended but I didn't want one where I kept needing to buy bags for the vacuum.Funny enough on the vacuum canister of this one, it says its 600 series :D but nowhere on the listing did it mention that.It is a bit on the heavy side but since the canister is pulled at the back when you vacuum, you don't feel it.The easy setting from floor to carpet on the wand is brilliant and with the quick foot settings on the head you can change the height for the fluffier carpets and back to the floor. On the stairs, the head is quite big but they provided a small 'pet powemate' that does the job pretty well, not that we have a pet.The motor on the vacuum heads for both the main one and the powermate are brilliant for the carpets and agitates it to clean very well. Thus overall I am happy with the purchase and highly recommend it.It is surprising that this doesn't have as much reviews, maybe because they have 2 different models on the same page.Make sure you get the purple one with dual motors and the pet power mate. From what I can tell the blue one is cheaper but less powerful than the purple one.

Kemore sucks.
It was an awesome vacuum when we first got it, 40 days after receiving it broke. After taking pictures of the wire that broke we had to destroy the vacuum and send pictures of it destroyed. Now Kenmore is telling us it will be 25 to 30 business days before we'll get the replacement. I called today (6/2/25) to check on it and I was told it's now on back order and we might not get it within the 25-30 days. So we've been without a vacuum for 20 days and now I have to go and buy another vacuum just so the house can get vacuumed while waiting for my replacement vacuum. So if you're thinking about buying a Kenmore keep in mind if it breaks after the 30 days you purchased it you won't see a replacement for at least 25-30 business days (probably longer).

Works well but difficult to maneuver
I like the Pet Power Mate, it pulled lots of cat fluff off upholstered furniture. The vacuum wand and PowerMate cleaned fluff on hardwood floors. No carpets so no opinion about that. The PowerMate is heavy, have to lift it and place it where I want to vacuum, since it doesn't maneuver turns well at all. Tool caddy not so useful, brush gets knocked off a lot.So far, I am happy with it. Time will tell how sturdy all that plastic is. Last vacuum tossed as hose, wand, brush, and tools cracked, fell off, etc. 3 months later- Do not recommend this for those with arthritic hands. the grip is cumbersome and have to use both hands some times since it is heavy.

Absolutely the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot!
I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner! I’ve been using it for a few weeks now. I waited to write my review just to make sure I still loved it as much as I did the first time I used it. With having a lot of pets in the house, I have purchased numerous types of vacuum cleaners over the years. Upright vacuum for the carpets and a separate one to do the hard surfaces such as tile and wood floors. With that said, this is the most absolute best vacuum cleaner I have ever purchased! It takes the place of all the other vacuums. It transitions from carpet to hardwood and back with the flick of a button on the handle. Everything about it is very convenient. Not to mention, I can go from cleaning the floors to instantly putting on an attachment to clean all kinds of areas. I can’t say enough good things about this vacuum.
