I should’ve purchased these years ago

I bought 4 sets of these for 4 thick suede leather guitar straps of different colors that match my different bass guitars. I really like them. They lock on to the strap buttons smoothly, with an audible click. There is absolutely no way they can come off until you squeeze on the release buttons on each side of the lock at the same time. You have to realize that not all guitar strap buttons are not exactly the same. On some they will fit fine, even without the included rubber grommet that attaches to the back of the lock with stick-on adhesive. Some will need the stick-on grommet. Some will still be loose, but the perfect solution (that I found in another review here) is to use something like Ernie Ball strap blocks underneath. That is, instead of using the rubber ring on top of the strap to hold it, put it on the strap button first and attach the strap lock to the button on top of it. It holds it tight and protects the finish perfectly. I did not try the regular size. I bought 4 sets of the XL because all my bass guitar straps are thick suede leather. I’m pretty sure they would work on thinner straps too as the part that locks it together screws down all the way. I have tried other locks and I really like these above all. They are a strong plastic. Unlike metal locks that I have had in the past, there is very little chance of dents or scratches if you get careless taking the strap on and off. I recommend that you give them a try.

I replaced metal strap locks with these. Hated the metal type as they often would work loose and weren't easy to disconnect like these. I use these on my bass guitar and Telecaster and it makes moving the strap from one to the other a breeze.

Rok-Lok does exactly what it is advertised to do - keep your guitar and strap securely joined together! My only complaint is that I ordere one, and it came in a sturdy box with plastic around the instructions and pads with precisely cut foam cushions, etc. There is a lot (IMHO) of excess packaging for a simple product that in all likelihood (again, IMHO) would be sufficiently padded in a bubblewrapped padded envelope. If nothing else, the packaging could containing 3 or 4 of these useful gadgets. It would cost more, but I'd rather pay for more product in the same amount of packaging.

Works great. The strap broke on my heavy base , I caught it before it hit the ground. Have a lot of confidence in these locks that won't happen again

Product is excellent just attach it to your strap and you're good to go. And for the price you can't beat it.
