Excellent HDMI/USB over network-cable extender, 4k@60 Hz works perfectly
This is an excellent HDMI/USB extender. It extends an HDMI video/audio signal over a network cable (Cat5e/6/6a/7), supporting 4k@60 Hz with chroma 4:4:4, as well USB for a keyboard, mouse and other USB accessories. In my testing with a Mac and a 25' (7.6 m) Cat8 cable, the audio and video worked perfectly in 4k@60 Hz, without any latency or signal degradation. The output was indistinguishable from a direct connection. The transmitter and receiver are made of metal (aluminium, I think), with rubber feet to prevent sliding. The build quality looks very high. The package also includes brackets and screws for fixing the transmitter and receiver to desks, walls, etc.For power, there’s an AC adapter, together with AC cables for the US, UK and EU. I left the UK and EU cables out of the photo. For connectivity to the host device, there’s a USB-B to USB-A cable, which uses the USB-B port on the transmitter. There’s also an instruction booklet, which I also left out of the photo. To set up the extender, the power should be connected to the receiver. The transmitter is powered using power-over-cable (PoC), which is similar to power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and allows the receiver to supply power to the transmitter over the network cable. Next, the USB-B to USB-A cable is attached from the transmitter to the host device. Finally, HDMI cables are attached at each end.Audio is transmitted over the HDMI output, but for those using separate audio systems, e.g., because the monitor lacks audio support, there’s also a separate connection on the receiver for audio.I’ve used a number of HDMI and HDMI/USB over network-cable extenders, and this one is the first I’ve seen that supports 4k@60 Hz. It’s also the best in quality and performance. The price is relatively high, but the performance and quality are well worth it.Overall, I can highly recommend this product.

The cable matters!
I've used a lot of HDMI extenders, in many different configurations...but this is the first KVM HDMI extender I've ever used or tested. I love that it will do higher refresh rates at lower resolutions...2k @ 144hz should prove useful among the gamer community. It will also do 240fps @ 1080p, which can be handy as well. It's also kind of cool that it only requires 1 power supply, powering the other via PoE, which is kind of a nice feature.I was also kind of stoked to see that it has an "audio extractor" / audio output. It comes with a plug that you have to wire up. It's only stereo, so you won't be extracting an ATMOS signal from it or anything, lol.If you're pushing the length of your cable run with this, you will benefit from using a CAT6a / CAT7 cable versus a CAT5/CAT6 cable, as the shielding present in CAT6a and CAT7 helps maintain signal integrity over a longer distance. If you're under 100 feet, you can use either or. Beyond that, I'd stick to the higher-spec cable. If you need to extend an HDMI signal AND do KVM duties, rejoice, for you have found the tool to do it, and do it well. It's useful for ALL kinds of folks, even gamers, with 2k@144hz support. It works swimmingly well, and I can't seem to come up with a complaint about it. 5 stars.

High Quality
I'm fairly new to HDMI extenders but following a failed unit I previously bought I saw this and given the positive reviews decided to order when I had the chance. First off this one was so much better packaged and looked more premium. I really hate poor packaging as it's often a sign of the general quality of whats inside! The unit itself feels really well made and is heavier than I expected though it's compact and easily hidden from view. There's not a huge amount to this but it does an excellent job where it needs to. I'm not a gamer and my needs are more content viewing related but the various refresh rates are a huge benefit whatever usage case you have. Obviously the KVM part is the main usp here.In terms of audio output, this will support stereo but if you're looking for surround sound this won't provide what you need. For my needs this extender has been excellent. It's not cheap and there are more affordable options out there but this is pretty flawless in my opinion.

Keep working remotely!
I have an extensive assortment of equipment in my computer room, and although I can use my workstation there (with hearing protection) it's not an ideal environment. I need the equipment there to use locally, but have a monitor and input devices in a separate area. My current setup has a lot of constraints with regards to monitor resolution and speed of USB devices.AV Access HDMI USB KVM Extender brings me into the modern age. With low latency, you can pass your signals reliably up to 50 meters over Cat5e Cat 6, or Cat 7 ethernet wiring with better distance and performance over the higher bandwidth wiring. I already have a lot of infrastructure in place and appreciate not having to run special cabling. Video is supported via HDMI at 4K@60Hz, UHD, and HD -- lower resolutions support higher refresh rates. Audio is passed along HDMI with video, but is also extracted and decoded for distributing to a separate amplifier or audio system.Up to 4 USB 2.0 peripherals are supported. The power supplies lock on for secure use. Requiring only a single cable and supporting 4K video bandwidth make this the ideal KVM extender.
