May require some adjustment
Great saw so far, but had a few issues before I could use it. I bought one of these on 28th April and the blade was not square vertically (which I adjusted) but it was faulty as it stopped running after about 3-8 seconds. I couldn't tell if this was the motor or the trigger. After requesting a return I dismantled it and got it all back in the box (bit tricky). Hermes didn't turn up twice to collect the return (may be due to being in a rural area) so Amazon refunded me and got DPD to collect who were spot on. I bought a second one after being refunded on 7th May and this one's laser was not parallel with the blade (which I adjusted) and the dustbag sewn edge started to come loose (I think due to the strength of the clip). The dustbag doesn't collect much anyway so I use the box the saw came in to stop dust going everywhere, with a hoover below my bench to clean up afterwards. This one's motor/trigger worked fine though and did not stop automatically. The trigger seemed to have a click that the 1st one didn't so that could have been the issue rather than the motor. Hopefully this was a one off rather than a faulty batch and Evolution don't recirculate the one I sent back. Other than the initial faulty model, difficulty of return and some adjustments the saw has been really good at cutting plastic and wood (not tried metal yet). Love the slow startup and quick slowdown. As this is my first saw of this type it took me a moment to realise you had to hold a clip under the mitre arm to move it! Doing bevel and mitre cuts are super easy due to the handles. The clamps have been very helpful. Cutting quality and depth is great. Someone I know that has had one of these for a while has warned me that dust can get caught under the base, where it swivels for mitre cuts, so I will be keeping an eye out for that as he said it can slow the swivel down or stop it.

A competitively priced mitre saw
A very good mitre saw, ideal for all your home DIY jobs. Excellent tungsten carbide saw blade which will cut through hidden nails when using recycled timber, although the blade will wear out more quickly if you don't remove them, but the replacement blades are very reasonably priced

Pretty good but not for dust collection
I have waited a few months before I give a review so here goes; I was in a quandary, this or the Bosch, in the end I went with this one, arrived and quite easy to set up, adjusted everything and it is now close as I can get to perfect, it cuts straight and true, the laser is not really of any use as you cannot see it unless you fancy working in the dark. Dust collection is bad, I have a dedicated power dust collector and on my old saw did ok, not brilliant but ok, on this one it is close to nothing, 90% is on the table or floor so you will need a mask but I use one anyway, so now I am thinking I should have bought the Bosch (and I still think it) As a mitre saw it is good, as most of them are at this sort of price, but I wish I had bought the Bosch as it has two dust collection points which would have cut down on cleaning up, if you do not mind the dust issue and forget about the laser, then it is a nice saw. I would still buy the Bosch given a second chance. Just remembered to say about the good ideas they have; carrying handles, and the two hooks for the cable even though the cable clip that holds the plug out of the way when stored broke on second use! Plus the Allen key is onboard for changing the blade.

Awesome piece of kit
I needed to build some decking for my garden. Whilst I have saws, circular, jigsaw and recip, I looked at some YouTuber’s videos and they were using similar saws - mostly much more expensive ones. After reviewing several possible options, the choice was made on: 1) ease of use 2) capabilities for this and other upcoming diy projects - multipurpose blade was a plus 3) value for money compared to more professional and cheaper setups 4 ) looks 🤭😂 To say it made my decking experience much easier was an understatement. Especially as I had to several angled cuts, mostly 45° but several others. I’m not a professional, but the end result I am more than happy with the result. We now have a nice useable area for entertaining on. I’ve even fitted some very cool decking lights to finish it off- with a built in WiFi app so you can control the lights by music, use it for mood lighting for outside cinema etc. Only gave 4**** as I’ve not had it long enough to see if the quality lasts.

Once setup properly this is a really good saw.
I bought this over 6 months ago, however it has sat in my garage waiting for me to get a bit more space, but today I had a project that required its use. It took a little bit to set it up but the instructions were clear, and even when I installed the slide rails upside down , it was easy to rectify the issue. Once the saw was assembled, it took a little to get the saw setup correctly, but the adjustments were easily made. One point to note, is that if you need to adjust the laser, you will need to ensure the saw is plugged in and powered on. Once set up the saw is easily to use, is powerful and cuts cleanly. I really liked the soft start up, the ease of use once running and the fact that the cord tidies away neatly. I paired it with the Evolution Mitre Saw Stand which provided a perfect base to work from, at a proper height. The use of the support rollers to provide a stop for repeated cuts was invaluable. Overall, as with other my Evolution power tools, I have been very pleased with my mitre saw and I would recommend it.
