A quick and easy strip that works well

Works great at a bargain price!
I rarely write reviews but this tester really was a great bargain and worked well. It show that water from my under counter reverse osmosis system produces water with 15tds and my well water has 85tds. Very reassuring to know. I am about to get a new whole house water filtration system and I needed this information.

Plenty of tests
I recently tried the DoubleCheck Water Hardness Test Kit 200 Strips, and it’s a reliable tool for monitoring hard water at home or in your aquarium. The test strips are easy to use—just dip, wait, and read the result quickly. They deliver accurate readings within one or two degrees of more professional kits, which is impressive for such a simple tool. What really stands out is the high strip count (200)—perfect for long-term use or frequent testing, and the color chart on the bottle makes it easy to interpret results. Plus, the compact packaging is ideal for storage. That said, the color matching isn’t flawless in low light, so I recommend testing under good lighting or comparing to a photo of the chart. Also, since the results are visual, subtle differences in water hardness can be hard to distinguish without a magnifier. Overall, I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars—a dependable, cost-effective kit for anyone needing regular water hardness checks, with just a couple of minor usability quirks.

My Tap Water Just Got Judged by 200 Tiny Strips
Packaging: Box arrived like it knew secrets. Inside: 200 strips, a sample cup, and the quiet promise of clarity. No wasted space, no confusing inserts—just the tools and a silent challenge: “Go ahead. Test everything.” Ease of Use: Dip. Wait. Compare. That’s it. No app, no calibration, no existential dread. The color chart is clear enough that even my skeptical cat could interpret it. I tested tap water, bottled water, rainwater, and one suspicious puddle. All judged. All catalogued. Accuracy: Ranges from 0–25 gpg and 0–425 ppm, which is basically the full emotional spectrum of water hardness. My kitchen tap scored a 0 ppm thanks to my water softener system. My rain barrel? A gentle 3. I now see my plumbing as well protected. Sample Cup: It’s small. It’s plastic. It’s perfect. I didn’t think I’d care, but it made the whole process feel official. Like I was conducting a ritual, not just dunking strips in water like a caffeinated raccoon. Visual Impact: Watching the strip change color is oddly satisfying. Like watching truth emerge from silence. I now test water before making tea, watering plants, or trusting a faucet. It’s become a lifestyle. Final Verdict: This kit doesn’t just test water—it reveals character. If you’ve ever suspected your tap water was plotting against your appliances, this is your moment. 200 strips means you can test with abandon, or ritualize each dip as part of a broader diagnostic lineage. Buy it. Dip it. Let the colors speak.

Inexpensive and quick way to test the hardness of your water
Our water softner was having problems and we had it serviced. I ordered these test strips to check if the repairs were effective or if I needed to replace the unit. I strips work perfect. I tested the water directly from the well which shows extremely hard water. Then I tested after the water softner which showed soft water. It is an inexpensive way to insure the water softner is still working correctly.

They Work!
You get a lot of tests out of this package. I have tested water from our outdoor hose spickets that comes directly from the municipal supply. A few months ago, our water department installed reverse osmosis equipment that they said would reduce our water hardness from 24 to 8 grains hardness. I was able to monitor the water hardness during the transition, and these strips tracked it from 24 down to 8. Our water softener takes the hardness down to zero, and these test strips show the water is indeed soft. At times my wife complains the shower water seems harder than normal. I have been able to use this test kit to convince her the water is actually soft.

Didn't seem to work too well
I don't know it's hard to read and the ones I came in the next ones in the canister I don't know if they've expired I haven't opened up the two sealed packages

I’ve used this TDS meter for measuring coffee extraction, checking my aquarium water, and testing my RO water system, and it has been consistently accurate. It’s simple to use, gives quick readings, and consistent results. A handy tool whenever working with water or just need more stats to work with

Works as advertised so far.

Je n’ai pas vraiment eu le temps de l’essayer mais les instructions semblent claires. J’ai testé l’eau de mon robinet comparée avec l’eau filtrée avec BRITA et il y a une différence positive. Donc… ça fonctionne!
