Let’s see
Replaced the original 7 year old Phillips D1S bulbs from a BMW 4 series as the N/S had finally failed.Xenon/HID bulbs fade over time, and my ones were almost as dim as my 1990 Nissan Bluebird Halogen headlights were, so confidence driving in the dark was quite low. I looked in to buying the Osram or Phillips replacements, but given it is December and we are now in to the 40 odd week period between Christmas and next pay day that is known as January, I decided to take a punt on these at ~£23 a pair.I received these bulbs the next day. They came nicely packaged, with each bulb encased in foam, secured inside the box in its own slot. You also receive a cotton glove to stop your sweaty, oily hands from touching the glass and thus ruining the bulb. Build quality seems ok, they have plastic fixings around the base of the bulb compared to the OEM metal ones on the Phillips.Installing these is easy; for BMW F series’ turn the wheel to the opposite direction of which bulb you’re replacing and in the wheel arch liner you’ll find a little hatch. Pop it off, remove the inside cap by twisting anti-clockwise like a bayonet and you’re at the bulb. Then, it’s just a case of unplugging, twisting the bulb 45° anti-clockwise and removing from the housing. After that, in true Haynes Manual tradition, “fitting is reverse of removal”! Remember to put your glove on at this point! And be careful not to damage the bulb when installing! I found these to be snug on install, so be gentle when twisting them back in place.Always replace in pairs, otherwise you’ll get a mis match in colour. Furthermore if like me, your old bulbs are 7 years old, the likelihood is that the other is going to fail soon anyway, so save yourself a job and do both together.Anyway these seem significantly brighter than the old ones. They are a 6000k so are whiter that the OEM bulbs at 4300k (which is yellower).I cannot comment on lifespan as yet, given they were only installed a day ago, but even if I get a year out of them, for the price, you can’t really complain.

So much brighter!
Recently purchased a 7 year old Mercedes cla that has xenon lights, so you assume they’re nice and bright. Quickly come to realise that the xenons didn’t give me much light or confidence whilst driving on unlit dark roads! After searching for replacement bulbs online and coming up with very expensive, well known brand bulbs, I finally come across these lights on Amazon. A pair of bulbs for less than half the price of a single well known brand bulb! Thought why not give them a go! For £23 if they’re rubbish, then easy price to swallow! Swapped them over whilst away with the family on a holiday park. Very easy to install, but that’s thanks to the Mercedes boffins who put a slide down door on the inner wheel arch that opens to the back of the headlight unit. For a few days I was itching to get home and go for a drive on a dark road to really test them out and wow! what a difference they have made!! I can now see what’s in front of me and off to the sides! The lights are far brighter and whiter than the bulbs that were originally in the car. I can actually see them shining on the back of the car in front of me now during late afternoon when daylight is dying down. Highly highly recommend these lights over the extortionate prices of other well known brands!

Was too good to be true. Initial happiness goes sour
Edit. Have to change my review and rating to crap I'm afraid so if you've found it useful you might want to reconsider. After a few days use the light faded to a dull purple glow illuminating about 20m with such an uneven spread pattern it looked like I only had one working. Confirmed by garage as faulty/cheap bulbs. Googling reveals that bulbs go purple just as they are about to fail. Bit the bullet and went with Phillips and was amazed at the difference. Don't be fooled, the packaging is lovely but the product is rubbish.Original review...A bit sceptical like others that a twin pack of Xenons could be less than 20 quid when Halfords are charging £77 A SIDE for their own brand but... amazingly they are great, dead easy to fit to my Q3 and really bright. Such a nicely packaged box too, like something a watch would come in but if that is the attention to detail in the packaging, I can only hope the bulbs are as good quality. A pair of cotton gloves included too for fitting. Don't hesitate, buy with confidence.

Audi A4 Avant headlamp bulb replacement D1S or D3S
Replacing the headlamp bulb is a straight forward job for the amateur DIY’er. It requires a T25 screwdriver ideally a long one as some of the 4 retaining screws for the headlamp are hard to reach. T25 screwdriver. The job should take no more than 30 mins. The hardest bit of the job is selecting the correct bulb in the first place. Despite putting my registration in Amazon and other well known UK high street car accessory retailers the wrong products were displayed. The particular bulb I required was a D3S NOT A D1S. this bulb does look the same and does fit but as per other reviews the bulb works for a matter of minutes and then switches off with a error / warning displayed on the dashboard. As a brand WinPOwer are much cheaper than other brands and two bulbs are supplied which is important to have matching strengths for bulbs. As always this is delivered next day by Amazon and I’d definitely recommend this product. Even if the life expectancy is lower the cost and simplicity of replacing makes this a great buyLink to video to show how to replace Haynes Audi Headlamp replacement

Good to look at but not very effective to use
Its quite kool to look at if you a outsider looking onto your car but when driving with the both headbulbs. Its light visibility is pretty awful to be honest where it has caused me to slow down on a country lane in the night as I couldn't see much!.Price is quite cheap but that probably because the light is not as strong as other xenon bulbs out there. It is a decent cheap alternative than forking out 50 pounds worth of xenon bulbs but be wary it wont be as effective.
