Wine Kit - Cellar Craft Showcase Collection - Amarone Style

I've done six wine kits in the past few years and based on preliminary results this one is excellent. I recently bottled the wine and opened one a few days later to try. Although it needs to age for a year or two it does show signs of the distinctive, bold flavors I expect in an Amarone. The only change I made was to use Lalvin BM4x4 yeast instead of the EC-1118 packet they always seem to provide. I'm not sure if this made any difference to taste but I like to experiment with such things.I really believe the grape skin packet makes a big difference to the overall body. The skins are not one of those dried blocks but instead come in a big bag of goo.

I have made 6 different Cellar Craft wines and they are all delicious. The Amarone Style, however, is the most tasty in my collection. I made it 2 years ago and a have started a second batch because my first bottles are dwindling. The kit is user friendly and the wine it creates tastes like a $30 bottle of wine. I usually get 26 bottles from each kit. This makes each bottle less than $10... what a deal. If you haven't tried the Amarone style, you must! I like to call itBAM-erone.
