I have owned my mixer for about 10 years, and I had to repair it several times because the original plastic part kept failing. Finding this high-quality replacement part finally solved the issue. Worked perfect for our kitchen Aid. We have the 5qt tilt head and the worm gear busted pretty early on. Valve for the cost was worth it for sure. Just make sure you buy the food safe grease and you’re set.

I have a KitchenAid mixer (model number KSM105GBCMC). One day while making bread, my 2 year old dropped the measuring cup in trying to help. I’m so glad he didn’t get hurt, but my KitchenAid ran slower and then 3 minutes later stopped spinning. When turned on, you could hear the engine, but the mixers wouldn’t spin. I found out it was the worm gear. I had stripped it. After tons of research online, I took apart the KitchenAid and saw that I did strip it. I just simply took out the old piece, put on the new, put it back together and now it works again! Don’t waste $300! Fix your KitchenAid this way! YouTube has videos on how to replace it! Just YouTube KitchenAid (your model) and worm gear replacement. This piece was amazing, cheap and came so fast! Will be back when this happens again lol

Although it feels well built and rugged and did appear to fit my Kitchen Aid tilt head classic, the worm gear had too much veritcal play compared to the orginal assembly so did not work like the original. It froze up as the worm gear moved up too much on the shaft while we ran the initial turning test with the orbital. There should be some kind of spacer or washer that would reduce that play. So after getting this part all greasy for replacement, I had to remove it and refurbish the original assembly. I would say trust an OEM part over this replacement.

Great replacement for original plastic gear

I got this as a replacement for my broken worm gear. And the entire 4 gear piece came pre assembled with a metal replacement gear so the gear won't wear out again. It's nice and easy to install. Took 3 screws and my God. This works great. A bit of noise as it grinds up. But the grease helps with that

Im Original ist dieses Schneckenrad eine Sollbruchstelle (nicht ohne Grund) und dadurch auch die größte Schwachstelle und das Verschleißteil Nummer 1. Aus diesem Grund haben wir in unserer Maschine, einen angepassten Motorschutzschalter montiert. Leider sind die Zahnflanken des Ersatzproduktes sichtbar nicht evolvent >gegossen<. Resultierend daraus funktioniert der Umbau mit dem alternativen Überlastschutz zwar, die Geräuschkulisse ist jedoch mit einem drehehnden Eimer Schrauben vergleichbar… Würde es dieses Produkt aus normgerechter passgenauer spanender Produktion (z.B. aus Messing) geben, hätte es viele Fans!
