Fantastic!
I bought this after watching Steven’s class on bluprint. Steven single handedly reconnected me with drawing. This book teaches and entertains - I will refer to it over and over again. The artworks included are so inspiring. Thank you Steven!

Very inspirational
Very inspirational book full of tips on urban sketching and still life drawing. I learnt a lot reading this and I’m looking forward to giving it a go. The author encourages you to draw in pen and embrace any “mistakes” or inaccuracies which I find really exciting. The book is filled with beautiful sketches too.

Overpriced and not for beginners.
Only buying art books rarely, I was really looking forward to this book. Sadly it's nothing like the blurb suggests. The author claims to be trying to encourage everyone to start a daily sketching habit, regardless of whatever level of skill the reader currently has. This notion is turned into a joke when you get partway through the book and realise that his idea of an everyday sketching habit consists of SIX layers of tone/colour, as well as the initial line work. His method involves three varying ink washes followed by three varying watercolour washes, which is utterly daft if you're just a normal person with limited time every day. Nobody is going to go to that trouble, least of all a beginner, who would have no idea of the hassle inks can be to work with. (Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.)Furthermore, all the demonstrations consist mainly of shops, buildings, and a whole pile of really ugly boring knick-knacks, which would put any sane person off drawing for life, not encourage a daily routine. No beginner is going to tackle something that complicated so early on. You have to work your way up, or you become disappointed quickly and give up. An author who has been teaching over 20 years should probably know that. The author's finished works are very nice, but this book is more of a showcase of his work than a valuable resource for those wanting to learn something new, or get into daily drawing. It's way overpriced and there are far better instruction/encouragement books out there. Danny Gregory's "Creative License" for example. Unless you're into super-anally-retentive drawings that are more trouble than they're worth, give this one a pass.
