Explode the Code 4 Books SET: Book 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Essential Lessons for Phonics Mastery) Review: Explode the Code: great books for learning phonics - I am on my 3rd kid using these books. They are fun and educational. My kids absolutely love using Explode the Code books and they ask to do more than they're assigned to each day. They're fun and cheeky and easy to follow. From time to time some of the pictures don't seem to match up with the words but overall these books are great and worth the price. Review: Best books to teach reading - I have been homeschooling a lot of kids for many, many years. I have tried my fair share of reading programs and always come back to Explode the Code. It is teaches quickly and thoroughly, it has enough repetition to retain without boring the kids. The teacher book is an absolute must. Some have sight words to go over and all of them have teaching tips for vocabulary and writing. It pairs up pretty well with the Bob books or Sonlight K readers to reinforce the concepts and to have them read small books. Explode the Code has flash cards too, one of my kids benefited but the rest didn’t need them, the books themselves had enough review.

Outstanding Phonics Series
I have used the Explode the Code set for my two kids and it is excellent. Logical, teaches each skill from a variety of angles and includes a lot of repetition so that each skill is fully absorbed before we go to the next one. I did buy the "1/2" books also but rarely had to use them for extra work. The series is outstanding and if you do a few pages a day from "A to Z" you end up with excellent readers. I will note that the series focuses on decoding - making sure your child can read every word accurately and fluently. However, you do have to address reading comprehension and vocabulary separately. (That being said, my kids did learn some new words in this book too - sometimes it's a "stretch" to find words with the letter combinations needed for the lesson it seems). This series is so good - we tried a lot of different things, but this is what stuck. I recommend it to everyone!

1st year homeschooler review
We are first year homeschoolers and have loved this for our kids. Helps with vocabulary, reading and spelling. It wasn’t super learn online for what level to get for each grade so I ordered this bundle. For reference Our 5th grader is using book 8 Our 3rd grader is using book 7 And our 2nd grader is using book 3 We do 2 pages a day and they’re so quick and not too hard which helps get the kids focused for the day

Perfect Education Companion
I teach the MTA program for dyslexic kids at school and decided to buy this set of books to go along with my lessons. They are a perfect addition when my kids are not quite ready to move to the next lesson and will reinforce what I have taught.

Great hands on phonics practice for struggling readers or new readers.
I love these books. My 8yo is a bit behind on reading and I'm using these as practical hands-on practice with the phonics. I can tell they're helping as he's making progress. I think the activities are easy, clear and productive. He is starting to get bored with it since they repeat the same activities with each session. He's asking for the harder books ..we will get there but we're back to fundamentals for now.

Great phonics review
These workbooks are a great review of phonics concepts that align with the science of reading.

Some of my favourite books for topping off my homeschool curriculum. They’re great for independent work. I’ve been using these since kindergarten, and my kids still use them in grade six. Simple work, but helps with spelling and reading.
