Works good
It seems to work great tested it vs an old mechanical one. Sure beats the pants of paying 15 times as much for a professional one.

What a great durometer for a great price!
I am a materials scientest who specializes in adhesives and elastomers, and needed to replace my old dial shore-A tester. I could not believe how inexpensive this Uharbour gage was, especially considering that it comes with its own box. I checked it against my hardness standards and they were within 0.2 hardness of the standard, which was actually better than my $500 gage. The gage is easy to read and zero and I love it!

Uharbour Hardness Tester, Durometer Shore Type D
So first, be sure you understand what you are getting: This is a Shore D meter, so it's for harder materials like tire rubber, leather, and plastics. It is not appropriate for softer rubbers like shoe insoles or soft silicon rubber. Being a shore-D this meter is probably best used with a stand. You will need to press pretty hard when using it by hand to get a reading. The measuring tip is also pretty sharp, so it will leave a indent on anything short of glass. Be sure to read the instructions. They are a bit dense, but have important info. For this meter, you will want to have access to a glass plate to use to check the meter following the instructions. Also be sure to note the minimum thickness for materials you are measuring. If you are getting this for 3D printing, be sure to understand you need at least 6mm of SOLID material to measure. So 100% infill or very thick walls. So keep that in mind if you are printing test coupons for different filaments. From my use so far, the meter is decently accurate with results on known materials close enough to what I expected to be useful. The kit includes instructions, the meter, a spare battery, and a case. Press the button to open the case, it's not a pry-up like many plastic cases use. One grip I do have is that while the meter has a hold button, it doesn't have an auto-hold feature. This would have been nice to have. Reading the meter off-axis is not easy as the LCD isn't the best.
